I took my old motorhome for an MOT on 11th June. It's the first time I have used Axminsters. The owner and his staff are very welcoming, polite and knowledgeable. The workshops are spotlessly clean and all very modern. Great customer service and a fabulous mug of tea. I will be using them again and highly recommend Axminster Autos
The go to mechanic! Having a business with commercial vehicles, we have had our fair share of shoddy mechanics. Axminster are genuine and decent guys who know their stuff really well which is seeming to be becoming rare.
I was introduced to Axminster Autos from a number of their historic clients and agree that they are a brilliant business and set up. Suitable to work on all motoring needs I begun to use them for a quick MOT on my car, but now they have my business and assisted me with changing parts and overseeing repairs to my car as well as My family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Axminster Autos to friends and family
I had my window regulator replaced at this garage and I am very disappointed with the customer service received. They rang me at 3pm 3 days after I dropped the car off to say they hadn’t started the work (due to wrong part being delivered) and then rang me at 4pm the same day to say it was ready for collection but they are charging me £100 more labour than originally quoted as they found it difficult to install. They did not check I was happy with the new quote prior to proceeding. Upon collection the next day (after he said they were closing early that day to go to the pub!) I queried this and they claimed it took 4 hours, not 1 as he had originally said it took, so I feel he is not being truthful. When I queried why it allegedly took so long, he admitted he hadn’t fit a regulator before so I question their claim on the website about being highly experienced. I explained I felt it was unfair their inexperience is costing me another £100 and that they should have rang me to explain their issue and check whether I was happy to go ahead with a more expensive quote. They didn’t have an answer to this and instead said they felt they should have charged me more and started telling me how much expensive car models cost for repairs (this felt irrelevant to my complaint). Upon payment, they said there was no flexibility on the price despite the extra £100 being due to their inexperience of fixing regulators and the fact they did not check the new quote with me prior to finishing the job. I will not be returning to this company and would advise others to wait for other garages to have availability (as I was later quoted a much better price from multiple other garages after I collected my car) as the customer service and mechanical experience from the staff here was disappointing.
Once again many thanks to Dave and his staff. On this occasion it was just an MOT but it was carried out by a friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommend.
Axminster Autos were recommended to me a few years ago, and I have counted on Dave and Mike's experience several times. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else now. Why? Because, they are honest and down to Earth guys who always seem to give great service at a reasonable price. They explain things simply, they don't blindside you with technical jargon and always go that extra mile to ensure you're treated with intelligence and respect. They've been going for years now...and it's obvious to see why!
A massive thank you to Michael and the team at Axminster Autos - Our starter motor was dying on our work van and we were desperate to get it fixed. I called Michael on Sunday and he had the parts the next day and got us in and sorted us right out! Fantastic service we would of had to let customers down if we didn’t receive the service we did. Thanks again Michael, I will be recommending you to my family and friends.
Very bad! I needed my engine oil changed, I was told over the phone by a guy called Michael who runs the place that he will defo be able to do it on the booking in day he gave me full of confidence. So I turned up on the day he totally forgot, I rushed away from work aswell to get there and he informed me he was snowed under with work kept apologising then he said let me take your number. And he never did ring me to sort out another appointment. So I ended up going elsewhere. That to me is terrible customer service and i wont be going back. Sorry if I seem like a winger but dont say you can defo do something if your not sure and write ya appointments down.. dont need someone who doesnt even work in the business to tell you that its mandatory. !!
Will always use this garage as they are very approachable, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Recently they took a look at my car as there was a strange noise from underneath, the car was raised up and the problem identified straight away, they also allowed me to inspect the issue. A price was quoted for the repair, the part ordered was a genuine bmw part, fitted around my schedule When it arrived without any fuss. If you want a trustworthy garage, I could not recommend Axminster more highly.
