   Excellent. We had been to Halfords (feels like we should have known better!) and they had tried to re-gas our air con, but couldn’t and said there was a fault with the car. We needed the air con sorted for a long drive the next day, so following a recommendation from a friend, we spoke to A Smith and they were really helpful. They sorted out the air con, using the proper machine that Halfords didn’t even possess! They did it while we went off for a quick coffee; they found no fault, and had no problems re-gassing the air-con. They showed us everything they had done, gave us advice going forward and put in uv dye to assist detecting a leak, if there were to be one. We are going to go back for all our cars servicing and MOT’s in future. They are helpful, very professional, and reassured us. We can’t fault them. We highly recommend A Smith.

   Very happy to have found A Smith Motors! They quickly diagnosed an engine misfire problem that another garage had failed to do and gave me a clear explanation of the technical issues, with accurate costings. They worked around my timing limitations and completed the work within time + cost estimates. Friendly, straightforward and efficient people to deal with. I will be returning for service, MOT, etc.

   Honest, reliable and dependable are not words often associated with mechanics. Phil and his family at A Smith Motors are now my go-to garage in the area. He does what he says and sticks to it and goes above and beyond. I had an electrical problem with my car that I couldn't fix myself after spending a couple weeks trying and eventually had to call AA out. The AA chap recommended A Smith for electrical issues. After troubleshooting it for a couple hours, he deduced it was my Body Control Module and I sent it off for repair. After receiving the fixed unit back, every electrical issue that was at fault was fixed so he was right! Couldn't recommend them enough.

   Unable to find any tire air filling stations nearby, I found this shop looking for some way to fill my tires. The lovely young man filled all my tires at the recommended pressure with a portable machine and refused to take any money for it! Would always remember this kindness and will come here if any issues with my car

   Recently took my Audi A4 in as the air conditioning wasn't working. Was told by a garage, it was the compressor and would be over £500 to fix. Luckily I took my car to A Smith Motors for a second opinion and to my delight it wasn't the compressor at all, it was just the sensor. Thanks to A Smith Motors they saved me from getting stung for £200-300. The car was fixed and sorted within a few hours, great service.

   Posting on behalf of dad - Old school garage net to the station for easy drop off and collection. Been using this garage for over 20 years as do our new neighbours, colleagues and children. Honest, reliable and excellent shop that have cared for my 70's, 80's and 90's retro cars (Alfas, Golfs and Citroens) with the occasional modern model to give them a challenge. Their quality and hourly rate mean they are busy for a good reason! Highly recommended in my opinion.
