   This is hands down the best barbers on the Wirral in my opinion! James is absolutely fantastic, actually takes pride in his work and really takes his time with your cut, never rushes the job, always make you feel welcome and engages in conversation, asks about your day, just generally gives you the best vibe you can ask for! I would highly recommend booking a cut here with James because he will always do his absolute best to fit you in where he can to accommodate your needs, honestly I can’t speak highly enough about James and his shop!

   Came across this place through google reviews - the barber is pretty sound - we went there when my son had an unfortunate experience with a barber based elsewhere in the Wirral - I got through to James late after the cut in question and explained the situation - he normally only cuts adults but when explaining what happened and how upset my son (who has Autism) was James said he could open early the following morning and get my sons hair looking good before going to school that day. He was dead sound and super relaxed, which calmed my son with his hyper anxieties no end! My boy came out looking great that morning and went to school pretty chipper, this has definitely been a positive factor with his confidence and anxieties…. James the barber was nothing other than a complete gent! Recommend 1000%

   Recently, I came across the Stag Barber Shop while searching for a new barber. I was thrilled with the outcome of my first haircut, which was expertly done by James. Not only was I impressed with the results, but I also appreciated the great conversation with James. I've been a regular customer ever since, and I can confidently recommend the Stag Barber Shop to anyone in search of a new barber. The quality of haircuts and conversation are unbeatable.

   Never left a review before just to show how disappointed I am. Walked in and was asked if I had an appointment (no signs anywhere). I apologised and said no, asked if I could make one for today and he said I could wait but might be a while which I was fine with to wait He gets to me and rushes me through, doesn’t say a word to me, clearly annoyed that he had to fit me in ( I was happy to leave if he didn’t have space). I asked for a little trim on the top to which he just cut loads off rather than ask me how long, takes seconds. Done in 5 mins and charges me £15! Never had such a quick cut. He then moves to next booked customer and is all friendly again to them… This after he tells the previous customer he always dedicates around 30 mins to each customer and how he always gives his best…meanwhile I’m rushed through because he was annoyed. I even apologised about the walk in although there were no signs anywhere and 99% of barbers take walk ins. Next time just send the customer home if you’re not up to it rather than ruining their hair and charging a ridiculous price. Some common decency.

   Can't speak to an actual haircut as i was turned away because "you need an appointment" (LOL, for a barber?). Suffice to say, making an appointment for a 15min short\back\sides, for me, was unheard of until now! For the people who don't want to waste their life, glued to their phone making appointments, i advise you put a simple APPOINTMENTS ONLY sign on the door. I know it's old school (doesn't include a Facebook or Twitter interaction) but it works!

   I've been using the services of Stag barbers since I moved to the area in 2018. James is a true professional and top guy, always remembers you and picks up the conversations where we left off. The standard of the hair cut is second to none, and the whole experience is a great social event feels like having a catch up with a mate. I can't recommend this barbers enough.
