Attended A&E last night on the advice of NHS 111. On arrival after checking in I was triaged straight away. Nurse spoke to the out of hours GP to see if they would see me. I was called in by them within minutes. Prescription supplied and leg dressed and was out in under 40minutes of arrival. The Dr I saw was exceptional and the nurse who looked after me for a dressing was just as exceptional. I was thrilled with the service provided. And hopefully on the road to recovery. many thanks to all the staff who dealt with me :)

I attended A&E twice this week in a lot of pain. On the second visit early in the morning when the issue was properly identified the support was fantastic Every single individual was so friendly and comforting. It is not easy being in pain and not properly understanding why so that, for me, was very stressful. But thank you all at Macc A&E.

My elderly father recently was admitted to Macclesfield hospital, he had gallbladder and lung problems so spent lots of time during his time at the hospital in the radiology department, he is old, frail and was incredibly nervous and said he was seen by a lovely staff member called Chris, my dad said he was a very cheery chap and made him laugh and explained everything so he fully understood so made him feel relaxed about the whole experience. I sadly live in another country so was far away so for me to know my dad was properly cared for means the world to me so big shout out to Chris (sorry no surname) from Radiology from the bottom of my heart a great big THANKYOU you are a credit to Macclesfield Hospital

This is the only hospital I will attend. for these reasons: The doctors, nurses and staff are very friendly and caring. They put you at ease. Although waiting times can be long.. and they are always very busy.. they update you at every stage and take time to explain test results and answer your questions. The hospital is clean comfortable and staff will go the extra mile... With patience and understanding of individual needs. Not just staff doing their job. Everything is done to a high standard and throughly. While attending A+E.. Sat in the main waiting room.. staff bring tea or coffee, sandwiches, soup to those waiting. This level of care is amazing! Well Done Macclesfield Hospital. And to all the impatient people attending ... who only complain about everything. Look around observe what you see ... and how busy staff, nurses, doctors are... while doing their best for you! Put yourself in their shoes before being abusive. How would you feel ? Appreciation goes along way. If attending A+E .. expect it to possibly be 8 hours .. depending on your issue and tests that need to be done .. and for results to be received. To provide you with the best health care. They are not miracle workers! They are simply doing their best... FOR YOU! under very demanding circumstances.

An Unforgettable and Brilliant NHS Experience - Macclesfield Hospital I feel compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with the NHS this week, an experience that has left me in absolute awe of the dedication and professionalism I encountered at every single step. It all began on Monday morning when a rumbling in my stomach after breakfast quickly escalated into a persistent stomach ache that lasted a full twenty-four hours. By Tuesday morning, I knew it was time to seek help. I used the online system to contact my GP surgery, and I was utterly amazed to receive a call back from a doctor within just sixty minutes. This immediate response was a great sign. After a thorough telephone consultation, the doctor arranged for me to come into the surgery within two hours. The efficiency was staggering. At the appointment, the doctor conducted a careful and thoughtful assessment. His professionalism was evident; he listened intently, asked all the right questions, and without a moment of hesitation, made the decisive call to send me directly to the hospital for further investigation. While I was naturally worried as the pain was increasing, his calm and expert manner was very reassuring. I was referred to Macclesfield Same Day Emergency Care unit (SDEC). I had braced myself for a long wait, and while I did spend time in waiting rooms, the standard of care during that period was nothing short of exemplary. For ten hours in the first waiting area, I was not just a number. The environment was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were consistently attentive, regularly offering me drinks and even food. Doctors and nurses proactively came to check on me, monitoring my temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate on numerous occasions. When my pain levels rose, they responded immediately with effective pain relief, Co-Codamol, which made a world of difference. I found myself sitting in comfortable chairs, watching television, and feeling genuinely cared for despite the circumstances. Later that evening, I was seamlessly transferred to the main A&E department. The communication was excellent; I was kept informed and was eventually moved to a bed. I must emphasise this I have never been more impressed by a public service. The waiting times are a reality, but they are a testament to the immense pressure the service is under, not a reflection on the staff's dedication. Every single person I encountered, from the porters to the consultants, was fantastic, displaying a combination of immense skill and profound human kindness. Once admitted to a ward, the pace and precision of my care were breathtaking. I underwent a CT scan and blood tests with seamless efficiency, leading to a swift and clear diagnosis of appendicitis. The following afternoon, I was taken for surgery, my first ever operation. The entire surgical team was phenomenal. They explained everything clearly, treated me with dignity and respect, and their incredible professionalism completely allayed my fears. The surgery was a success, and my recovery was managed with meticulous attention and warmth. From admission to discharge over four days, the entire system operated like a well-oiled machine, yet it never lost its human touch. The hospital was spotlessly clean, brilliantly organised, and run by what I can only describe as superheroes in scrubs. Before I left, I was provided with comprehensive notes and all the necessary medications to aid my recovery at home. My experience this week was more than just medical treatment; it was a powerful reminder of the national treasure we have in our NHS. It is an institution built on a foundation of sheer professionalism, unwavering compassion, and breathtaking efficiency. I am, and will always be, eternally grateful to every single member of staff who looked after me. Thank you, NHS, you are absolutely magnificent.

Incredible set up. Breast screening system worked like absolute clockwork. Hour from appointment to getting back in car following two consultations, mammogram and ultrasound scan. Thankfully clear. Absolutely first class thank you.

From the time I arrived yesterday morning until my discharge last night, following my gallbladder removal my care and treatment was 5* I wouldn't have had better treatment if I'd gone private. Mr Simon Ward and his team were absolutely brilliant with me. They were so thorough in there questions and my welfare throughout...honestly...I can't fault them. Thank you all so much and our amazing NHS! ❤
