Arrived at a busy time waiting room was full. after waiting i was taken for triage and then returned to the waiting room.it seems the policy is most urgent first and rightly so I was later treated in full and discharged. It did seem more organized than on my previous visits quite a while ago
I attended Dewsbury and District Hospital on 11 October 2025 around 7:00 p.m. with chest pain, left-sided numbness in my face, shoulder, and arm, and a feeling of heaviness. Blood tests and an ECG were done, but despite these symptoms being clearly documented, I was left waiting for more than five hours without being seen by a doctor. I repeatedly told staff that my symptoms could be neurological, but I was told to keep waiting as others would be seen first. By around 12:10 a.m., I felt unwell and anxious and decided to leave after signing a form stating I was leaving without being seen. I fully understand that NHS staff are under pressure, but leaving a patient with possible neurological or cardiac symptoms waiting this long is unacceptable and could have put my health at risk. I hope the hospital reviews how cases like this are triaged and improves communication with patients waiting for care.
I’ve had to visit A&E on two separate occasions, and both times I received quick, efficient care. Even the times we have had to wait it’s ended with a great result. The doctors took my concerns seriously and made sure to rule out even the smallest possibilities which gave me real peace of mind. Their thoroughness and attention to detail were genuinely reassuring. The paramedics are also incredibly kind, professional, and are smiles all around. My family members have had similar experiences too consistently helpful and attentive staff who actually listen and take action. It’s comforting to know that when something serious, A&E is a place where you’re taken seriously and treated with care.
I’d like to thank all of the staff who were on duty on Friday evening for their excellent support and care. You are making a difference and I really appreciate that. Amazing people!
Came to A&E, looked after and sat down. Nurse came and did and an assessment, waited in walk in centre, Dr looked at me and provided medicine and looked after well. Had to wait a little and expected as we are one of many, and some were in more traumatic state than myself, lots of negative feedback but staff do a fantastic job under difficult circumstances and conditions, and difficult people to deal with too. NHS staff do a great job and are not thanked enough, you only have to go outside the country and see how other countries treat patients, not all get as much help and attention as we do and some countries patients are treated on the floor, seen it all. Well done NHS staff, nurses, doctors and all support people who keep it running, clean it anf manage. Lower your expectation and give yourself time for yourself when you attend and it will be fine, some of us want seeing to immediately, nkt happening.

Very very bad people went there 22:00 come out at 2:00 in the morning i waited nearly nearly 4hours and the they just said after they see me just take some paracetamol please don’t go there this place should be closed while ago
I would be ashamed to work for this organisation. Managed by virtue signalers who have no regard for patients or science.
First of all, as soon as you arrive, there is a message on two posters that strikes right in to your face....very professional.....so had to wait for approx 25 min until receptions appeared Went with a cut on my finger to be informed at the triage that I will be waiting 6h to be seen.....then asked to leave A&E and wait on the waiting room without any directions of which way to go. Hopefully this is the only time I have to ever come here. With a such an attitude from staff ,starting with the receptionist, no wonder this place is rated only 2.4
