I find at Friarwoods it helps to be a wee bit psychic as sometimes or very often they don't tell you what's happening and you end up phoning again just to understand. That surgery used to be full now empty no wonder.
Being able to get a same-day appointment was incredibly helpful, and the lady who handled my booking was friendly and helpful. Dr. Kayani truly stood out; he was an attentive listener who took the time to address all my concerns, and we successfully established a plan for my treatment and future actions.
My experience is not a good one. Whilst my dealings with the staff is mainly positive the service and support I've received is not positive. I have practically had to beg to get any support or a referral. Whilst I have witnessed other individuals receiving first rate, efficient service from this surgery. Two tier surgery no less
My apple watch detected that I was experiencing high heart rates. I felt off but not ill. On Monday, 08:00, 5/08/2024, I entered my details in Patches. At 9:30, I received a text for a telephone appointment that afternoon which resulted in n appointment with a GP,08:40, Tuesday, 06/08/2024. After consultation, I was asked to wait till a room would be available for an E.CG.and blood tests. All of these were concluded resulting another G.P consultation. Resulting in a heart condition being diagnosed, full clear explanation, medication prescribed with benefits and possible side effects explained and two further appointments made. This treatment along with lovely people conducting themselves in their jobs with professional attitudes, kindness, caring and supportive given this was a bit alarming for me. Excellent surgery and patient/ client care from start to finish. I and my family have been registered with this surgery since 1993 and have only ever experienced openness, great and effective care and always , always treated with kindness. Thank you so much for everything.
Matt the Physio there is top class. Nearly sure he played a good standard of football across the leagues in Yorkshire but knows his stuff.
Been trying to get a phone appointment with a Dr for a medication review since 6th December 2022. Was told by nurse to make appointment @ desk and this was refused & I was told that only by phoning at 8am would I be able to make appointment. Have been trying since, and today success!! spoke to someone only to be told that all appointments gone this was at 8.40am and I had been holding on since 8am at which point I was 49th in line. What does one have to do to get an appointment, not everyone wants to spend time blocking A&E it’s about time this practice started doing what it is paid for.
My son picked up the phone at 8.30 on Monday to be number 38 in the queue to ask for a review for his tablets for his mental health issues as his panic attacks have worsened and day to day activities are hard. Calling is traumatic enough and then at 9.40 you’re answered and told phone back tomorrow. There needs to be more thought around mental health and how this surgery deals with these issues. He suffers badly with anxiety and this experience makes it worse - I appreciate there’s only so many doctors available but mental health requires more support everywhere especially for the young and I expected better. Calling for help can be much more difficult for people who suffer and to have to go through it again tomorrow may be too late or too hard for some.
The blonde receptionist is very rude on the phone and in person. From signing up and having my first appointment and she has also been very rude to my husband. One of the doctors that first called me was questioning my affordability and came across very arrogant. The nurse is lovely but the overall experience makes me not want to call or go into the doctors because they make you feel that uncomfortable!
The online engage service is good but takes too long for a response. Getting through to the surgery via telephone is worse can take up to 45 minutes to get to position 1. The doctors themselves are good I just think the system and service they have in place currently is quite appalling. For example I requested another doctors note on Monday and by Wednesday I'm still waiting for a copy to be sent to me and been told that it may be tomorrow when I get it - that would be 4 days to get a sick note that's a continuation.
