   I initially went for a tooth extraction which I had put off a year because it was a top wisdom tooth. My appointment was in early May, unfortunately the tooth was difficult to remove so the dentist referred me to the hospital and that’s were things started going down hill fast. Weeks of chasing the dentist and the receptionist told me to contact the hospital directly myself, only to be told by the hospital to go back to the dentist. The last contact I had was in August when received a text message asking if I have had appointment at the hospital yet, and if I haven’t the process will have to start from scratch. The communication was very poor and the whole experience appalling asking patients to deal with administrative tasks that are clear apart of their job.

   I am an extremely nervous dental client. Townend Dental Practice is absolutely amazing. I see Umesh and he completely puts me at ease during my appointments. The whole team are so supportive, kind, caring and considerate. I would never want to see another dentist now I have been lucky enough to find this little gem.

   I had been having such horrendous dental pain for the longest time. Townend managed to book me in for an emergency appointment a few months ago and since coming here all my pain has completely disappeared. I required some dental extractions and I had a huge fear of the dentist but this practise has truly been so incredibly warm and welcoming. From the receptionist to the dental nurses and the dentists themselves, such an incredible team full of brilliant service and compassion that goes such a long way. Thank you for all your help, I can finally go about my day to day without being in excruciating pain and crying all the time.

   This practise is the very best in every way! I used to be terrified of the dentist until I found Shaun and now I completely trust them. From the time you ring and speak to the receptionist to when you're being helped by the dental assistant and finally to treatment, service is excellent. They all go the extra mile. Talking of miles, I travel over 50 round trip for this dentist. If you live in Caterham, you are very lucky to have this practice on your doorstep. Thanks for all you do Townend.

   The best possible dental experience! The practice feels welcoming and relaxing, while also being highly professional with modern equipment and fittings. All of the staff are lovely and personable, making sure you are at ease. Dr Shaun has a very kind and gentle demeanour and takes great care to make any treatments as comfortable as possible.

   I called to make an emergency appointment and without hesitation the lady who answered said “go back to your old dentist”. I didn’t think you needed to be registered to get an emergency appointment? “We don’t have any appointments” to which I enquired not even a private appointment, as I am currently desperate. “Oh we have a private appointment but every Thursday and the next one isn’t until the 20th of April”. Okay, so do you have any private emergency appointments? “For £70 I have one tomorrow?” When I questioned how she had gone from no appointments to one tomorrow she told me “I was thinking of you saving money going NHS” but my actual dentist is fully private and it’s an emergency. She then put the phone down on me. Definitely zero customer service and not the reception you expect from a clinic offering a private service. She gave a very bad impression of the clinic and or though desperate to be seen by a dentist, I am not that desperate to call back and beg for an appointment from an unprofessional representative. If you have any dignity- avoid!!!! Cannot comment on the actual dentistry but if the reception staff are reflective of the dentistry staff, I’d avoid.

   What a truly wonderful dentist this is. I was so scared of the dentist that I had allowed lots of damage to happen. They have made me feel safe and looked after and not judged. Nothing is any trouble. The receptionist is so kind and lovely. All the dentists and nurses are amazing. I have just had an extraction and it couldn't of been more painless if they had tried. Honestly, hands down the kindest practice I've ever been too Emma

   I have recently joined this dentist and I am so impressed with how I’ve been treated. The receptionist staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The dentist and dental nurse put me at ease and didn’t rush the visit. I had a tooth extraction and they were so good I didn’t have any pain after at all :) thank you so much

   Went here with my 2 children today (3 and 1 years) and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Very friendly and didnt feel rushed. They helped with my children when it was my turn and were just brilliant with them. Made the experience stress free.
