   I want to give a huge shout-out to Leanne at the café inside Tesco Extra on Huddersfield Road, Oldham. She has completely transformed my morning routine and turned a simple breakfast into something I genuinely look forward to every day. During my pregnancy I started craving a full English, but I quickly fell in love with their bacon, fried eggs, and toast. I’m picky too — I love the fattiest bacon, lightly cooked, with well-done eggs, and somehow the toast always tastes even better than anywhere else (I’m still convinced they use magic butter!). From the moment I walk in, Leanne spots me, greets me with a smile, and makes sure the chef knows “the pregnant lady is here for her bacon and eggs.” She always gets it exactly right. Her attention to detail and genuine care is why my once-a-week treat has turned into a 4–5 times-a-week ritual. I honestly nearly stopped coming after a member of staff once refused to make my breakfast how I asked — but Leanne stepped in, made sure it was done perfectly every time, and completely restored my faith in the place. She absolutely deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service, her friendliness, and the way she goes above and beyond. Thank you, Leanne, for making my mornings brighter and my cravings satisfied!

   The cafe is poor. No gluten free bread, can you believe it in 2025! And no oat milk. Now I realise we are not in central Manchester but please can we have options!! It is clean and bright but let’s get with the decade Tesco

   Very disappointed with Tesco today. I take my friend shopping every Monday for her food for the week. I do this to ensure she has sufficient food to see her through the week, at the same time I also empty her fridge of any remaining food that has reached or expired the best before date (she hasn’t early onset dementia). Last week we purchased a chicken liver pate (it had a good date on it 28.7.25) Today when I checked her fridge, I noticed the packet was starting to balloon. As it still has a week to go, I was concerned that it shouldn’t have done this, it would be unsafe for her to eat. On trying to get it exchanged, the girl at customer surface refused to exchange it as it had been out of the fridge for 20 minutes…… (honestly, who gets their shopping out of the store within 20 minutes, let alone home and in the fridge) I regularly buy this pate and have never had a problem with it previously, and obviously the bacterial activity within pack was slow as it had been in the fridge a week already and the pack had started to balloon but not popped. Why oh why did they refuse (it only costs £1) and I’m so annoyed that I have taken the time to give a poor review. Tesco are probably not bothered, but I feel slightly better sharing this example of poor customer service.

   Been shopping in this store this morning and coming down the escalator there were two Tesco employees coming up the escalator. The lady looked at me and said something to her male colleague about me wearing a mask. They both looked at me, shook their heads and carried on. Maybe make your staff aware that some people still need to wear a mask

   Dishonest lying thieves. After not collecting a click and collect order, I was horrified to discover it had been collected. As this was impossible I asked by who and when. After being further lied to and told that they would check the CCTV and get back to me, this also didn't happen and the answer I was given was that all of the orders for that day had been collected. so despite me not collecting my order my order have been collected? When you phone Tesco online over the phone unfortunately you can't have an intelligent conversation unless there's an intelligent person present, certainly there were none present on the multiple times that I called. this is not the first time that Tesco have retained money when you've not collected an order. in fact it is an ongoing problem with Tesco and despite there being a very set process of what should happen many of their stores do not adhere to that process. it either makes them incompetent or dishonest lying thieves. I am currently at £184 down for an order that I did not collect and from a store that is ignorant and has dishonest incompetent staff and a company with its head so far up its own bottom it doesn't seem to comprehend the seriousness of this., thankfully my bank has now become involved in the money will be returned to me I won't be returning to the store.

   Decided to try one of the new milkshakes in the cafe. Looked good, but very disappointing that it was full of ice! Surely that's meant to be blended up, never had a milkshake full of ice before..

   Empty shelves Always untidy Escalators never work Upper car park always closed off Staff, hands in pockets, on mobile phones. Feels very poorly run by management. I messaged Tesco Customer service about this store. They were very disinterested. Lukewarm reply. They have lost me as a customer in there now as it's generally unpleasant and annoyingly in there.

   The store is located in Huddersfield Road, spacious, well arranged and customer friendly. You find good quality products here at reasonable prices. There's three choices of payment - at the till, self service and scan as you go. ATM Cash machines available in the car park, you can stop for a cuppa at the café, coins machines available, the toilet facilities always clean and tidy. The store recently house other businesses like Gregg, Timpson (key cutting and screen repair), MAX The Photo Expert and Dry Cleaning. There's big spacious parking facility and taxis are readily available; you don't have to wait for one. Excellent. Well organised.
