Tesco Wilmslow was very busy when I visited, with a large crowd throughout the store. A noticeable number of shelves were empty, most likely reflecting that the store had not yet fully recovered from the Christmas period. Despite this, the checkout process was efficient and well managed, helping to move customers through quickly. Overall, while availability was below expectations on this occasion, the store handled the high footfall reasonably well.

Why do they not follow sainsburys when it comes to using the hand held scanner and have separate checkout points. I can't understand why I should scan it myself and then have to wait in a queue for people scanning whole trolly loads at the tills. Otherwise this tesco is just like any other supermarket with overpriced goods but at least this is well stocked and organised.

Im going to agree with Tom Pickford's review. This woman is unbelievably rude. She doesn't even serve us (she just storms past us and pretends we're not there even when we've called her for help) but its not happened once its happened multiple times now to the point where we start laughing when we see her because we know she will be rude to us!! Maybe don't work in customer service if you hate it so much? The other staff have been lovely with us so she stands out really.

Debrah lady at the self checkout is lovely! She helped me with the glass products that did not come in the box to make sure they arrive safely to my house thank you for being so thoughtful

Awful, oppressive store environment and clearly badly run with poor stock levels, cleanliness and upkeep for such a major branch. But worse than that yesterday, bizarrely rude, angry and uncomfortably passive aggressive service from blonde haired older lady on self scan checkouts at 19:38 on 5/09/25. No communication or hello, literally throwing/SLAMMING hand scanners around like a child having a tantrum. Doing a manual spot check, wheeling trolley away with no communication and back to us. Couldn’t quite believe what was happening. In a way it was quite iconic someone so brazenly going against corporate service policy, but then just left us feeling uncomfortable as it continued and she dragged out the angrily non-verbal 30 item rescan far slower than it needed to be. Either this person is either underpaid and overworked or should not be such in a customer facing role. It says a lot for Tesco’s employment motivation. Finally we got a blunt “you can pay now” and she turned away again. Altogether the worst customer experience I’ve possibly ever had in any supermarket. I hope they watch and keep the CCTV for an expert guide on how to make your customers feel deeply uncomfortable and anxious - and ensure they never return. Even if you think you might nip in for a few bits while visiting M&S, don’t do it - save yourself the stress and go elsewhere where you might be treated as a human - and find what you want in stock. (Note in the photo our scanner face-down on the checkout where she had literally THROWN it down…! I would’ve named them in the emailed complaint, but she had the fleece zipper right up and no name badge visible, funny that!)

Not enough "manned tills" got rid of the tills and put in self checkouts. Queues for miles on a Sunday - self checkouts take ages to get through as items do not scan and booze needs signing off by a person who isn't there.

Plus points..... good selection and well stocked up with very helpful staff. Bad Points - don't expect your Tesco club card app on your Tesco mobile phone to work at the checkout. Virtually no 4G signal and Wifi that keeps disconnecting. Luckily I had my old plastic club on hand, but according to the check operator connectivity is a long standing issue in this store

As a larger Tesco I find the range of products on offer here is often better than my local store, with better offers on prices too. The car park is busy but massive - I have always been able to get a space, eve at the busiest of times.

I borrowed a wheelchair for my friend with mobility difficulties. I took her walking trolley back to the car. Then I discovered that Tescos don't have a cafe. I asked the young man if I could take the wheelchair (with friend) into neighbouring M&S for lunch and was told yes, so long as I bring it back. It was such a relief after a stressed morning. Thank you. Much appreciated.

This is a very good large supermarket and it does a lot of homeware etc. Good for the “big” items washing powder etc. I like their bread. I wouldn’t shop for a special meal here but horses for courses..
