Student staple, everyone knows “24 hour Sainsbury’s”. 4 stars as Sainsbury’s generally pricier than say Morrisons/Lidl/Aldi, but I think it’s the only LS6 shop open 24hours, so that’s a win for late night snacks!

Badly laid out - aisles are always crowded - Sainsbury's is just greedily trying to cram more stock into too tight space. Also the shelf stackers were casually swearing to each other which made me feel uncomfortable.

I went into this Sainsbury’s (22nd July 2024 at 10PM) and I bumped into a friend. We were chatting whilst picking up our groceries and I had picked up a fruit cup and it was leaking. So, I put it back and picked up another. Later on, the security guard came up to myself and my mate in such a pretentious way and asked us if everything is okay. We just told him that we were quickly catching up and doing our shopping and he started shouting at us saying that we’re “taking the piss, it’s a grocery store” and “stop throwing food around”. When we weren’t. I was so confused and shocked as not one ACTUAL Sainsbury’s worker mentioned that we were being a nuisance. His attitude was horrible, disgusting and uncalled for. A grown man shouting at two students was just embarrassing. I would never go back to this Sainsbury’s again - honestly. I don’t usually write reviews but this guy was just plain rude for no reason.

Exact same things to be said for the sainsburys just down the road. (Which btw is a strange place to put another branch if there's one already here). You are gunna get harassed at some point by a guy in a wheelchair without a doubt, don't give him money because he's been doing this for years. Just be polite and ignore him. The security guard will occasionally shove him off but don't expect much.

Great place but i feel the should warn students in the area to after shopping especially late at night to be vigilent near the cash machine and walking around as the area nearby is quite dark and got petty crime

I got bothered by a begging guy who was in a wheelchair. I mentioned it to cashiers as people pull tricks to get cash. This guy is known for issues. Security ran out and told beggar guy. Both verbally attacked me on the way out. Sainsbury's security said he was happy to be reported. I can't believe Sainsbury's security would leave single women unprotected.

I bought an olive oil and a box of cookies. Then I went back to look for my friend. The security guard didn't pay attention, thinking I stole those stuffs. She took me back to the store, even though I showed payment record from my bank, she still kept me there. She apologised eventually but saying she felt I was hiding. It feels like it was my fault to cause her mistake. I will never visit this store again, and tell all my friend about this story. It was a shame that they treat a customer as a thief. After figuring things out, they didn't even give me a sincere apology.
