They changed the layout and got rid of all the random non-food stuffs in the central aisle noo!! Aside from that, love the free pastries I get from the Lidl plus app haha. They also changed most of the checkout services to be checkout machines, which makes the queues go by much quicker than before, so good on them. Cheap, good quality for the prices. There's a couple steps to enter the store, there's an escalator going up to enter, and a lift, but the lift often breaks

2 young women staff normally on late opening . Went into store today and got four pastries which were advertised as being 4 for £2.00 the machine charged me full price spoke one of the assistants about it and she told me that because I bought 2 of each item it wasn't included in the deal . I said I'd didn't state that on the shelf . She replied it would be on the app . My response was why didn't it state that on the offer display . She said check the app not my problem with a terrible attitude . Both of these young ladies are extremely rude . The way they talk to you is in a belittling manor .will take my custom elsewhere.

There is often (usually, even, since some of them are closed at offpeak times) not enough throughput at the checkouts, resulting in long queues, and the design of the store is such that you can't easily see this before you enter. I go anyway, though (the food is cheap and more varied than you'd usually get from an inner-city store) so I clearly do not dislike it that much.

One star for the abominable checkout experience. The queue is way too long any can move so so slowly. Especially even they don't have half the checkouts turned on. The staff shouting at you to tell you which machine to go to is a very unpleasant experience. It feels like they are herding cattle. The whole thing is completely undignified. The layout is pretty confusing as well. Prices are decent and nothing is as cheap in the city centre so I assume they know they can treat the customers like animals. Unavoidable experience of you live in the centre and aren't made of money but it's something to endure, nothing pleasant about it.

I’m giving two stars because I feel so sorry for the overworked staff at the checkouts. Poor things having to shout all day, I suggested to one nice lady team member they should give you little microphones / megaphones so you don’t have to shout all day. The queue does move fairly quickly but the layout could be improved, one queue for cash only customers so you don’t have to trip over everyone to get to a check out if you are paying by card.

I would give a less rating if i could, absolute joke of a store, the queues are ridiculous and the self check-outs are going extremely slow. You need more staff to help ppl that are incapable of using them on their own and take ages to scan an item. Today the queues were from the corner of the street during wind and rain, won't ever even try to use this store again.

It's an alright store, and very convenient for me. However the checkout needs to be completely revamped, why not make all the machines cash and card? It slows everything down. Please please please add normal peri sauce, I could only see lemon and herb.

Third visit in a week. Apart from being cheap, this store is a shambles. It is absolutely chaos trying to wade through the isles and not suitable for buying a couple of days worth of shopping. Queues are 50+ people just to pay, people even queuing outside!! and baskets unnecessarily humongous which clogs the isles up even more. Not to mention everyone walks around like zombies with no plan, and have conversations in front of fridges. Don't even bother going in the daytime.. there is a massive lack of management here and planning. Please Lidl this could be a great shop

Good selection of products but queues are absurd, queued for about 20 minutes today, as almost all the checkouts are self-scan. No matter what time of day I go, the queues don’t seem to get any better. Needs some actual checkouts with Lidl’s notoriously fast checkout staff. Security guard is, as others have said, a powertripping fool who needs a stern talking to from management.

My first experience walking into this new Lidl was pretty positive, large range of products and an easy to follow lay out. My experience soured however when I saw the state of the queue. In a city centre location you would expect a well thought out check out plan, rather than the reality, which is a single lane queue causing the line to wrap around the store (thoughts and prayers to the two till workers, you guys are champions). I was just popping in to have a scout of the place ahead of doing my weekly shop and so was not intending on purchasing anything, quick in and out, or it would be if the only exit wasn't past the queue. Not a problem, I'll just leave out the entrance as is the norm for most supermarkets... The security guards, ooooh the security guards, even after being told by Lidl management to let us out they still demanded we go around the entire queue, grand. In conclusion, I'm a uni student and can't afford not to go to this Lidl so I will be a repeat customer, but good god damn the queue plan is aneurism inducing, also the security are the biggest L of the whole place. Props to the rest of the staff, making the best of a bad situation.
