   supermarket as a whole is great, the woman with short red hair pauline however i don’t know why you’re even keeping her employed! multiple reviews have been based around her and her sour disrespectful behaviour. ignores younger customers and does nothing but treat them with disrespect and expects kindness back, i know multiple people who have felt like a VICTIM to pauline, following anyone who hasn’t got a wrinkle to them as though everyone who isn’t ancient like her is on a high risk heist. and let’s not forget purposely ignoring customers, i’ve had multiple incidents where my self checkout has needed staff assistance and she has made eye contact ignored me, and an older person till will go off she will fly over to them! don’t even bother with asking for her assistance unless you are an OAP, you will be greeted with nothing but disrespect. she needs sacking. all the other workers are lovely and compensate for her shocking customer service

   Absolute hate this place. will be taking my complaint as high as I can. Pauline was following me round store to begin with lord knows why. Then I was in the line behind people patiently waiting. The cashier shouted next please I started to walk across to which Pauline the employee of the year shouts. Theres a line here. So I shouts yeah shes just shouted me from there. The cashier said yeah she has. She never appologised nothing just carried on doing whatever.

   Took a package back today where it's seal was compromised. I only noticed the day after when it started to smell in my fridge (strong odour of onions). Knowing the package was compromised I didn't eat it and decided to return it on my next shopping day, which turned out to be 14hrs after the expiry date on the product. I was met with a total lack of understanding or professionalism by two employees. One just made faces and said it wasn't their problem. To me it didn't matter that the product was 14hrs over it's expiry date as it was not exactly able to be re-sold. And the food doesn't have a timer on it, where it goes off at midnight. The food was smelling 3 days before it's expiry date so an extra 14hrs makes no difference. And the food should still be safe to seat after 14hrs. I wasn't going to make a special drive to Asda just to return a £1.40 product. Senseless. One of the staff even said that it was smelling because it was out of date. How ridiculous. This is supposed to be an air-tight sealed product. It was clearly defective. These things happen. If it's just a case of not accepting products after the expiry date, they could have been professional and friendly enough to state just that. But no, instead I got sour looks and treated as if I was trying some sort of scam. Another staff member said "Well we can't do anything with it now.". What? What were you intending to do with it anyway? Needless to say, as soon as I got home, I contacted Asda UK to complain, who took down the feedback and issued me with a gift voucher for £2 to cover the purchase. These staff need training. Why anger a regular customer for the sake of £1.40?

   Well what’s going on at Asda Goldthorpe? I leave one star as I can’t leave no stars. Why the is everyone using self service tills? Older people struggle to use them my mum for one wanted to use the till with lottery and pay for shopping she was told no and must use self service till. This is absolutely ridiculous and we will not be shopping there again. Now Asda at bottom of parkgate Rotherham is totally different. You don’t get forced to use self service tills and all staff were inter com devices so they can chat to each other and jump on a roll if busy. Asda is a chain of shops so why with in 8 mile or so are shops different? Someone at Goldthorpe branch sort this mess out before people will stop shopping there and use other named branches nearby. Aldi for one.

   Only given one star because I can't give zero .visited today about 1pm went to pay at till only to be told was for cigarettes and lottery and that I had to queue at self service while three other assistants stood talking , please understand that not everyone wants self service. Asda needs to address customer service

   Small shop but I can find nearly everything in it. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Good car park. Hope in future to extend into bigger store like other branches. Also, roads should be done around. All the best Thank you

   I have given one star but in actual fact it does not deserve that from the experience that they have given me! Disrespectful;rude; accusatory; shameful; obnoxious & downright nasty ! are adjectives that everyone hates to encounter & which I really don't bandy around 'willy-nilly', unfortunately they are accurate. I know the adage :..."if you can't say anything nice..."etc. Alas! This is the service I have been treated to. I hope that your experience exceeds this

   Hate going to this shop. Theres always a queue at the cigarette till which takes ages and all the while theres 3 or 4 staff stood gassing about 6 yard away. Heres a tip - rather than stand about watching people queueing and asking if they want to use the self serve checkout why not jump on a till and actually serve some customers. Tasha - As it was a while ago I cant remember the exact date and time of that visit but my opinion still stands that the customer service and attitude of some of the ladies that work there is appalling. In fact I saw it for myself last week between 3 -5pm 11th october. A lady was stood there with a couple of bags full of shopping waiting to speak to one of your staff. She must have been stood there a good 5 minutes while all the while there were 2 of your staff talking and blatantly ignoring this poor woman. Pardon my description as i mean no offence but one employee was an older woman with curly hair and a permanent confused/vague expression on her face and the other a younger woman with longish dark hair and gaunt eyes. Anyway, the woman who had been waiting for several minutes and had been repeatedly ignored finally lost her rag, and I mean she really lost it, she threw her bags of shopping on the floor and gave the 2 who were supposed to be working there what for as she was leaving the shop. What was their reaction you might ask? Well rather than an apology for being so ignorant or maybe even an excuse or reason as to why they let a customer who was waiting to pay for her shopping stand there for 5 minutes whilst they conversated, one of them shouted a sarcastic "have a nice day" as this clearly irate customer left the shop. I hardly ever write any reviews good or bad, and I certainly wouldnt write a bad one just to get someone into trouble. In fact, I probably would not have replied to your answer to my review tasha if I hadnt witnessed what i did last week but I feel obliged to try and make someone aware of what goes on in that shop. That lady customer was certainly not the first person to lose her cool in that shop and I dare say she wont be the last. Thankyou for replying to my first review and im glad I've got that off my chest, Regards, carl.
