Used this outlet first time today.My wifi didn't work so couldn't load my tesco card on my phone and didn't have my actual card with me. Just want to commend Liam one of the staff who spent time with me to resolve my problem Turns out my app was out of date and needed to login to Tesco wifi to sort it. Liam logged me into interenet update my app which resolved ed my problem. Not only that he took me through the self checkout and helped me there again. Staff here particularly Liam are very helpful.
The branch manager has AWFUL customer service. She was rude to me and my father.
Tesco advertise that they have an ATM on their large sign at the top of the ramp. On the ATM, Tesco have their name on it in large letters, and in small letters NatWest bank is mentioned. The machine has not worked for weeks now, and when I mentioned it to 'Customer Services', I was fobbed off with the reply that it was nothing to do with them, and that it was the responsibility of NatWest to sort it out. I wasn't even offered a phone number to contact NatWest and the customer service staff member just turned her back on me. Not impressed.
Have used Tesco Ilkley for nearly 30 years but they are trying so hard to drive us away. Empty shelves and even if they were full they have much less choice than they used to. Much more expensive than it used to be. High shelving that average height people cannot reach. Gents toilets not working. It seems like they have stopped caring. It seems like we are being forced to drive further afield. Sorry Tesco you have got this one wrong big time.
At noon today, I saw a staff member (presumably management) stop an Asian man at the main entrance for a search, very fussy, very good security, but finally let the innocent Asian man go, I heard very bad language between the words. I don't want to make it difficult for customers because of racial discrimination. I also don't believe I will shop there again as the staff are very bad.
This store has an habit of providing mis-information on the price of items stocked on their shelves i.e wrong items placed on shelves that do not match the selling price ! One has to use a magnifying glass to read the labels which usually displays price for different weighted item. Too late once you are at the checkouts. Another gripe refers to a "cheese offer" clearly stating on the cabinet 3 items for £5 (one at checkout this turns to £6?). I tried this offer on 2 occasions but was told that one item was at full price and that the special offer did not apply ? yet this item was in the same cabinet as rest of them . I heard a member of staff instructing another of this error but a couple of days later nothing had changed. So many errors are made re pricing that you wonder if this is a deliberate ploy to con the public with false pricing (on the off chance that when one is confronted that a mistake has been made, one will either pay the full price to avoid the embarrassment or refuse to pay !(This mainly effects the elderly unfortunately ). Oh yes, staff do not even apologise when confronted (exceptional customer service skills). Foul turkey ruined Xmas Day ! This refers to their own brand .We followed cooking instructions to the letter but despite best efforts the bird tasted foul/ fowl ! It smelt and tasted awful and must rate as one of the worst taste experiences ever ,and to add insult to injury we wasted our time and cost of gas in cooking time. This maybe a one off but it has taught us a valuable lesson i.e. avoid home brands , and spend a little more elsewhere.
Their fruit and veg section is very dull. This building is past it's sell by date. I would be much happier with an ALDI instead.
For a superstore, the range here is extremely poor. It’s also much more expensive than other retailers in the area. Staff are also quite unhelpful on occasion.
Lovely store. Staff brilliant. The hot food area staffed by domestic goddesses. One negative observation, the large box of tissues has deteriorated in quality and is now quite coarse in texture. Great idea to have a free phone for Ilkley Taxis in store. As an older shopper I couldn't ask for more
