Since coming to Vy nails and spa I often look forward to getting my nails done, the staff are always welcoming and very professional. They’re all very gentle too. I am especially pleased after today’s appointment where the nail artist worked with me to make my vision come to life whilst changing some things about my references photo as I requested, he was very flexible and made me feel really comfortable to communicate what i would like.

Dear Vy, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the declining service and professionalism at your salon, based not only on my recent experiences but also those of my family and friends. Unfortunately, the standard of customer care has dropped so significantly that it now feels as though clients are being treated like an inconvenience or as if a favor is being done for us rather than respected as paying customers. One of the most troubling aspects is the dismissive and, at times, rude behavior of certain staff members, which I have personally experienced more than once. What’s even more concerning is that when these issues are brought to your attention, they are not addressed seriously. Instead of holding your staff accountable, there seems to be a tendency to justify or excuse their unprofessional conduct, including instances where they have raised their voices at clients. This type of behavior is entirely unacceptable in any professional setting and should never be tolerated, especially in a customer facing business. On my most recent visit, I requested short nails with red powder a simple and clear request. However, instead of honoring my preference, I was repeatedly told it would be “too messy” and was pushed toward choosing gel or dip powder. Despite expressing my choice multiple times, I eventually gave in just to avoid the uncomfortable and interrogative attitude of the technician. This is not how a paying client should be treated. When I mentioned I wanted short nails, I was told they wouldn’t “look nice” or “have a good shape.” Let me be clear: it is my business how short I want my nails and what I choose to have done. I do not need to justify my preferences to your staff. If your technicians cannot provide basic services without attitude or resistance, then perhaps this is not the right profession for them. This is a nail salon, not a social favor or a friend’s house. I am here for a service I am paying for, and I expect to be treated as such. Additionally, during the service, I noticed a black discoloration under one of my nails, which I was told was due to trapped water from a previous acrylic infill. Rather than properly treating it, the technician simply applied gel over it, leaving the black spot visible. This is careless and unhygienic far from the standard of professional care one expects from a reputable salon. To make matters worse, the atmosphere in the salon has become increasingly unpleasant. The staff often appear unhappy, and I have witnessed multiple instances of them arguing amongst themselves and displaying negative attitudes toward clients. This creates an unwelcoming and uncomfortable environment no client should endure. Finally, being informed at the end of the appointment that card payments are no longer accepted and that cash is now required is completely unprofessional. This should be clearly communicated beforehand. Many customers, myself included, require receipts for work or personal records, which we can no longer obtain under this policy. Frankly, the shift to a cash only policy especially without offering receipts gives the impression the business may be attempting to conceal earnings and avoid tax obligations. This raises legitimate concerns about the integrity and transparency of how the salon is managed. It also places unnecessary inconvenience on clients who require proof of payment. When combined with the decline in customer service and the unprofessional behavior of staff, it would not be surprising if the salon were formally reported. Under the current circumstances, such action would be entirely justified. As a long standing client, I am incredibly disappointed by the direction this salon is heading. The lack of accountability, respect, and professionalism shown by both staff and management is not only upsetting it’s unacceptable. Without paying customers, there is no business. I strongly urge you to reflect on that and take immediate steps to address these ongoing issues.

I have been going to Vy nails for a good couple of years now. I can honestly say that after every single visit I have been very happy with my nails. I normally get SNS and I don’t like it looking bulky! These guys and I mean all nail techs get it right every time. My nails look very natural with SNS and the colours are always on point. Yea, a deffo 5* from me! ☺️
