Advised to go to A&E after speaking on the phone to an emergency doctor. I have never experienced such a poor, broken and misleading service. On arrival all staff were helpful but clearly basically fulfilling their roles. The board states a 4 hours wait and changes regular, people are in significant pain being ignored, toilet alarm sounded which did not raise any attention of passing staff. The seats are close together and uncomfortable. The emergency doctor referring us to go to A&E IMMEDIATELY is a joke, when all you are being sent to do it sit for 12 plus hours without any medical assistance. If we had known the wait time was over THREE times what was said we would have gone home and awaited for the doctor’s surgery to open. After witnessing how the NHS manage and deal with people in A&E - I can honestly said I would be almost dead before I visiting there for myself. An absolute disgrace. Passing people to A&E for no reason at all should not happen.

Absolute terrible hospital, my wife was told to report by her Dr for her worsening symptoms and potential critical. From start to finish 9 and half hours, that was for blood and 2 tests. Was told to report back today after leaving at 0330 this morning due to know one available for the MRI. Speedy appointment for the MRI at 1250hrs, checked in and got the MRI quickly, then told to report to Elizabeth Ward for results. With no explanation a male nurse straps the BP sleeve on and then conducts a temperature check still no explanation so I asked what’s happening as my wife was only told to wait. The response from the male nurse was somewhat half cocky reply and abruptness from another nurse. My wife was told half hour for results and then informed at E Ward …off the abrupt nurse it’s going take a long time. Patients smoking in the entrances, abrupt staff, massive waiting times (loads of NHS Staff doing nothing), no communication…Terrible state of affairs…minimum output, minimum effort, lots of excuses…but all happy to take a wage

Booked in for a scan when there are no staff at work who are able to do it. Sat waiting for 45 mins before we were told. The incompetence is incomprehensible.

The medical staff are so friendly. Booking in was so fast and efficient, the Dr's and nurses are very respectful and can be very amusing. Nothing was too much trouble and I was kept very well informed as my examination was carried out. I'm not going to say it was a pleasure to be ill but it came close.

Can’t ask for a better experience. Receptionist - lovely, triage nurse - thorough, GP hilarious and lovely, nurse caring and chatty, x-Ray efficient and friendly. In and out very quickly, really well organised.

Attended on a Friday evening with eye symptoms. Was triaged promptly and professionally. Every member of staff was courteous, thorough and confidence-inspiring.

IT was down as you tried in at reception, causing a long queue of anxious people. No one was explaining what was happening. Attended after 111 advised me to- my left arm had gone weak and hand numb, this was accompanied with exceotionally painful shooting pains down my left shoulder blade, arm and chest. No bloods taken, no ECG. The Dr who eventually saw me didn't move grom her seat, just sent me home in agony and advised me to see my GP. I have since found out I have a bulging disk in my neck trapping my nerves and requiring spinal surgery. Thankfully Sheffield hospital actually cared, assessed me thoroughfully, organised an MRI and bloods, then within a week referred me to the surgical consultant.
