I’ve been going to Penny for 10 years now, she’s brilliant! I now travel back from Scotland for hair appointments. I’d definitely recommend for mixed Afro/european hair.

I have recently moved to the woking area and I found Penny Kristian on Google. From start to finish Penny was so welcoming and friendly, I had a wash cut and dry service and honestly my hair has never been this smooth, soft and straight! Having afro carribean hair it's difficult to keep it straight and not go frizzy without having a treatment, but the products and drying method that Penny used has worked beyond my expectations! I'm so happy with the final result and this will now be my new regular hairdressers. Thank you Penny!

Penny does my hair so delicately. She’s been a wonderful hairdresser and the results are fabulous! I’ll definitely be going again.

I had been wondering for ages how keratin treatment would affect my curly hair . So I booked a consultation with Penny to discuss. She carefully examined my hair and spent considerable time discussing the look I was trying to achieve. She was very professional and put no pressure on me. After thinking about it for a while , I booked an appointment and went back . Penny applied the treatment and I’m so very pleased with the result. Thank you Penny .

Never write reviews but after everything I have been through with my hair I think it’s only fair I share my experience. Penny is a nice woman, which is why I’ve put the extra star. But this one mistake with my hair relaxer after a year of lockdown has ruined my hair and taken a toll on me emotionally. After my hair grew out for a year, my natural hair was pretty much looked like it was on transitioning stage fully grew out with relaxed ends. Since it has been a year and I thought it was obvious that my hair needed more than a root touch up and you could that, as she had done my hair before I trusted her and would had been fine. The end result of my hair as you can see from the photos are not the end result I wanted. The relaxer was not stretched enough and you can see a massive chunks had been missed out in the middle all around my hair and it was patchy all over. I was so shocked I started crying in the chair, as I know I would have to wait another month to sort it. I still had to pay £65 inc discount that was put on because of the mistake, but soon as I gathered the money to get it fixed lock down happened again and I had to wait another year to get it fixed. I couldn’t accept to myself the extent of the damage done to my hair until I went to London to get it fixed and another hair salon. The lady who fixed my hair was beyond shocked, she asked me “did you do this yourself??” And I explained it happened in a salon and I could tell she felt sorry for me. The only way she could describe my hair was ‘butchered’, and said I should definitely have not paid for a service not done correctly. But I don’t enjoy conflict so I explained I felt like I had to pay. Im writing this only now because now I have had a professionals opinion I can see how truly permanently damaged my hair is, the lady who fixed it did an incredible job to work with what I had but there’s still gaps where you can see it’s been done wrong. This hasn’t just affected me financially, as I had just left uni and been furloughed from my pub job and they could only afford to pay me part time hours. It’s also taken a huge toll on my mental health and confidence too, because it looked so terrible and could see it breaking off as I had to wait so long to get it sorted. I know sometimes it’s easy for customers to be gaslighted and blamed for the service thats provided but that’s why I’ve provided evidence of my booking and photos of my hair after it happened. I hope this review can be constructive and mistakes can be learned from. More communication, consideration and care should be put into methods when providing any service in personal care in the in the beauty industry. I would love a refund as I do think I deserve one as I handled the situation with grace, but I cried about it for over a year and still paying for the damage that’s been done.

First time getting my hair done at Penny’s. Wanted my hair straight as I have quite kinky hair. Was more than happy with the result. My hair was so silky and so soft. It looked the best it’d ever looked. I would 100% recommended it because it is so worth it. Thanks Penny

Penny is very professional and highly skilled. She has been relaxing, conditioning and trimming my afro hair for 2 years now. Having moved to Surrey from London, I initially struggled to find an experience hairdresser with afro hair expertise; until I came across Penny. She is always very welcoming and ensures she provides the best service each time I visit. If professionalism and high quality hair is what you are after, I would highly recommend Penny!
