Just utterly disappointed with the standard of hair cut I received. The stylist was rude and defensive and despite ‘15 years of experience’ the cut of my hair is blunt and uneven, and even after going back to have touched up, it’s still so - I cringe every time i look in the mirror and just want to cut at it myself. As far as I am concerned this is not worth £5 let alone £85 and I shall certainly not be returning, I wish I had refused to pay.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Making Waves Salon. Maria is lovely and welcoming, the vibe is warm and relaxing, both Dean and Magdalena are fantastic stylists and genuinely nice and easy to chat with. I was thrilled with the results and will definitely be back!

Anita was excellent, very friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend her for blonde highlights!

Always have a great experience here, the team take their time to consult on the cut and my colour, and how best to maintain my hair for longer term health and colour goals. Balayage is always fantastic looking!

It was my first time having my hair coloured and I was well looked after by Selime! She worked her magic and she did a wonderful job! Thank you so much!! The salon is lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxing! Thank you Selime and Maria for the great experience!!

Very disappointing service, booked 2x kids wash and cuts, told not enough time to wash one when arrived. Then told rough dry only. Had to request recut on sections as rushed job. In end after completion of first hair do we decided to leave. £30 for child hair cut without a proper cut or dry seems ridiculous, will not be returning

I was in need of a revamp hairstyle and booked online with Paty, the senior stylist at Making Waves. The total cost was £225 which is the most I have ever paid for wash/cut/highlights. At that price I expect a superb experience. Paty was very friendly and attentive. However, there were 3 major issues. 1 It took over 6 hours to do my hair. I don’t have that amount of time to sit in a salon. The estimated time was 3 hours. So it took twice as long. 2 The salon was cold. The inside temp was registering 15C. 3. There was a difficulty with language and understanding. I ended up with a cut I did not want. Paty went out of her way to make it better. But 6 hours from arriving, the enjoyment had gone out of the experience. For an expensive cut/colour, I am afraid that communication also has to be easy. However, I do appreciate Paty’s efforts to make things right. The salon Manager, Maria, refused to remove the extra cost of toner from the bill (I hadnt been told it was not included in the price) and she told Paty that it would be docked from her pay. Another minor grumble was that the lady who welcomed me(not sure if it was Maria) had said she had snacks if I would like some during the morning. Coffee was offered by Paty but the other lady did not follow up with her offer and after 6 hours I could have done with something!

Am a little bit in shock - just charged £100 for basic root colour, wash and dry. Wow. My fault for not checking, I know business are struggling too but I can’t be the only one who can’t consider coming back at that price.

Amazing blowdry experience with Martina and Patsy. My wild hair was elegantly transformed into beautiful waves. Wonderful and relaxing facial and massage with Farah. I loved the texture and smell of all the products which were applied sensitively to my needs. My face was positively glowing and more youthful after the experience. I fully recommend the services on offer at this salon. Very friendly, efficient and great value.

Fabulous Sunday massages from Farah - I’ve already had the Hot Stone Massage and it was so wonderful that I went back for an Indian Head Massage, when I had a sore neck and lots of tension in my scalp. Farah made me feel really comfortable and asked lots of questions before the treatment to ensure that she would be able to help me as much as possible and customise the treatment according to my needs - I walked in stressed and burnt out and floated out after just over an hour, feeling so much lighter and more relaxed! I will definitely be going back for more treatments soon.
