This is really the worst hair salon I have been to, and I have been getting my hair cut 4x a year for the past 15 years. I don't like writing negative reviews but I feel that this needs to be said and other customers need to be warned. First of all; all the staff are really lovely and nice to speak to. However, the ones I have encountered have very poor skills as hair dressers. I was first seen by Rachel. I asked her for something very simple- all my hair to be the same length with face framing pieces (my usual, tens of hair dressers have done this for me with no issue). She cut the length of my hair much shorter than expected but I didn't say anything because I accept that hair grows. She began cutting the face framing pieces and I said "please can you cut them a bit shorter?". Normally the hairdresser would then show me with their fingers and ask how much they should cut. Rachel, however, cut a massive amount off, i.e. mid forehead! I pulled away from her and asked why she had cut this so short. She made some excuse about how I didn't have my glasses on and I wasn't understanding. She blamed me and offered to level the rest out. From the first moment with Rachel, I did not have confidence in her so I asked to see someone else. She kindly brought over her manager, Amy. I asked Amy if they had problems with Rachel before and she said "not about cutting hair too short, no" which indicates they'd had problems with Rachel before. Surely as the lead she should either try to train Rachel more or fire her. Amy had a very sweet personality. She saw what Rachel had done and admitted that she didn't know why Rachel had cut it so short. I asked Amy "is this what is done when a client asks for face framing pieces?" And she said "no, these are very short, I wouldn't do them this short". I appreciated her being honest but Rachel never apologised or admitted mistake. Amy then offered to try to blend the face framing layers but admitted that she can't blend the really short pieces (mid forehead) that Rachel had cut. By way of apology, Amy took the charge off the haircut and offered me a free blow dry; which was very kind of her. However, the blow dry she did fell out within the hour. Having lived in London my whole life, I have had many blow outs that have lasted longer in worse weather. Her skills just aren't there. Unfortunately, Amy, who I think is the lead hairdresser, left me with a very uneven haircut even after trying to fix it. The face framing pieces are not even on left and right, and my haircut at the back is not straight. I know this for sure because I had my engagement photo shoot today and my HMUA was shocked at my haircut. She couldn't make my front hair pieces look symmetrical without cutting them and also agreed with me that the back is uneven. I am truly gutted as I had paid a lot for my engagement photo shoot and wanted these photos displayed at my wedding. Despite two hair dressers working on my hair, they couldn't make my hair cut even. That's alarming. Although the staff are nice, they lack the skills to do a basic hair cut and blow dry. They either need to upskill or hire more skilled staff; because it isn't nice to mess up peoples hair. The length of my hair is very uneven and my face framing layers look like baby hair; which Amy said I would "have to wait until they grow out" because there is "nothing that can be done now". She apologised several times. Terrible service, please find somewhere else to go if you want even a simple hair style, but especially if you have an important event!

I had an appointment today for express style. Originally I wanted a Hollywood style. I showed the hair dresses pictures of what I wanted and I got basic waves done with a straightener. Not even half an hour and my curls are completely gone. I am really really disappointed as I have a big event to attend to and I really wanted to feel happy and confident with my hair. I had to ask for it to be touched up because they were going to happily let me leave with frizzy hair. My cousin recommended me to this place as she goes often and she told me the service was good. Maybe I just got unlucky today. I was thinking of coming again to do a cut and a blow dry but I am reconsidering now. My hair came out nothing like the pictures I showed. Very unhappy with the results. I also didn’t appreciate the hair dressed whipping their nose with their hands while doing my hair. My hair doesn’t look any different to when I straighten my hair at home. I travelled very far just for a waste of money.

Dean was incredibly patient and really took the time to listen to my suggestions. He provided a fantastic service from start to finish – from washing and drying to cutting and styling my hair perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Thank you so much, Dean and Amba, for such a great experience and wonderful service!

Tried Amba today for my sister and I. Both had a wash and blow-dry and I was absolutely impressed. From the interior deco to the staff and their customer service, I could not fault it. They delivered on both our hairs and the salon was buzzing with happy chatty customers. You can tell from the moment you walk in that they are top notch on their service. Their prices are reasonable and I can't recommend them enough. Will definitely be going back again. My sister has already booked her next appointment.

Amazing! Thank you, Nicole, for coming to the rescue! I had a botched colour yesterday that had me looking like Tony the Tiger and in tears. Amba called me back immediately and were understanding and squeezed me in. Nicole and team worked hard and turned it into a total transformation—within hours, I went from disaster to Hollywood Glam. Absolute magic! If you’re looking for someone experienced, talented, and professional, this is the place to come. For ANY age, any style.

I had a red highlights/ balayage done there by Aimee, she took great care of my hair, with doing a test patch of my hair to make sure the dye would be good on my hair. She did an amazing job of the colour as she got it exactly how I wanted it to look, really pleased with the result and would definitely recommend.

My wife went to Amba Blow Dry and said that she had fantastic service from start to finish and loved the salon. Thank you, she’s so pleased with her hair! Would definitely recommend.

Kind and accommodating staff, had never been before but staff were welcoming, helpful, warm and incredibly talented! They treated me with care and spent extra time perfecting my hairstyle as I was nervous to try a curly blow for the first time. Reasonable prices for the incredible quality of service, and fit me right into a busy schedule. Will definitely be returning!

I attended with my 2.5 year old for her first hair cut. She was too frightened to get her hair cut so we had to leave. The stylist did try her best with the little one and I can only commend her. However, the staff, including the manager, insisted on charging a 'no show fee' because my toddler refused to have her hair cut. Appalling service. And this after the appointment being unable to go ahead the week previously as the salon had no electricity and running water where apparently I was graciously not charged a 'no show fee'. Salon makes it up as it goes along and are lacking in basic decency. Avoid.

Turned up for an appointment for my 3 YO and told they couldn't and didn't do haircuts for boys. They then took £10 from my card and refused to refund. At no point either on the phone when I enquired or in the customer online journey did it mention that the salon was for females only. Won't be returning.
