   I had the most horrible experience - I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Chelsea branch of Larry King. I visited the salon for a root colour appointment after a patch test on 25 October and a detailed consultation with Jay. I clearly explained the blonde shade I wanted, showed reference photos, and specifically requested no orange or red tones. Jay assured me he would not use bleach, only a high-lift tint and possibly a toner. Unfortunately, the appointment on 30 October was a nightmare. The product used was far more aggressive than promised, causing intense burning on my scalp, red eyes, irritation, and a severe headache. After two and a half hours of pain, my roots turned bright orange, then ash brown with toner—completely different from the blonde shade I requested. My face frame and scalp were red, itchy, and painful. I visited a clinic afterward, and the medical report confirmed chemical irritation and damage from bleach or a highly aggressive product. Despite this, I remained understanding, trusting the salon would take responsibility. While Gary, the manager, initially promised to correct the hair free of charge, this promise was not honoured. On a follow-up appointment, Jay refused to fix all the affected areas and insisted I pay for corrective work, and I was given incorrect information about the manager’s availability. This experience was physically painful, stressful, and extremely disappointing. I expected professionalism and accountability, which were not provided. I hope the management addresses these issues seriously and takes responsibility for the mistakes made.

   Incredible hair cut. Lucy gets it right every time and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. The salon is friendly and they really take good care of you in a gorgeous setting. 5 stars from me!

   Fab, super happy with my cut and will probably be coming back. The staff are great and very friendly. Only thing I would have different would be perhaps more time and effort on styling the hair after a cut. Considering the steep prices I was a bit underwhelmed at the lack of styling. But I was so happy with the amazing cut, that it’s definitely something I can look past. Very professional. Would highly recommend.

   Katie is amazing! I always go to her for full/half head highlights but I know she is amazing at balayage too. She takes my brunette hair (with some tricky warm patches) to a bright, evenly cool toned blonde every time. I’m a self confessed hair colour perfectionist but Katie has such patience and takes the time to make sure everything is done right. She always knows what to do and tells me straight if an idea of mine won’t look right or I won’t like the end result which saves any hair mishaps! One time she used 7 different toners on me to gain the exact look I wanted so I can truthfully say that she always goes the extra mile! The Larry King team make you feel welcome and offer lovely refreshments so it’s always a really great experience. Definitely recommend!

   I have really fine hair (made worse by being postnatal) Scott Ade is literally the worlds best stylist! He understands fine hair, has a whole bunch of tricks to cut it and make it look thicker and I have no doubt I will leave the salon feeling like I have 'normal' hair. 1000% recommend. Worth every penny.

   This is the only place I ever go to get my hair cut any more, as it’s absolutely just leagues above any other hairdresser I’ve been to. Lucy is the only person I trust with my curly hair, she cut my hair when I transitioned to wearing it in its natural style and she’s been amazing along the way teaching me about how to take care of it. Def recommend!
