Loved my experience at DKUK! I had my hair done by Vera and Julietta and specifically want to thank Julietta for her gentle approach, nice personality and getting the job done too! I was treated with sensitivity and care, by this i mean I was given the option to use a screen for privacy. Great stuff!
I was really looking forward to my first visit to DKUK Hair Salon because I’d heard they have art on the walls instead of mirrors and truly consider clients who feel anxious or overwhelmed during salon visits. As much as I like getting a cut, the process itself usually leaves me feeling overwhelmed — but I'm happy to say that I have finally found my salon. From the very first moment Daniel welcomed me, I knew they meant what they advertised. Low-volume music, a calming scent throughout the space, and many small, thoughtful details made me feel at ease. I felt grounded, calm, and genuinely ready for my cut. I got my cut from Vera Lynn, and I truly loooove it. She listened to all my likes and dislikes, answered all my questions, and when I finally saw myself in the mirror after the cut, all I could think was: finally — someone heard me and delivered. I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about a haircut. I am definitely coming back — not only for my next cut, but to support a business that genuinely cares not just about its clients, but about its community.
It's is unlike any salon I’ve ever visited. Not your typical salon lined with mirrors but instead the space also doubles as an art gallery, and the paintings are all very unique! I don't often try new styles, usually just trim the existing basic cut. However, I decided to try something new, and the stylist was fantastic. They listened, made a few helpful suggestions, and somehow got the look right. Genuinely happy with the result— got quite a few compliments and it's not even been 24hours since my appointment!
I'm a bit of an unusual case when it comes to getting a haircut. Sadly, I have an autoimmune condition which has flared up particularly badly over this year due to a period of quite bad mental health. Haircuts can be a bit difficult... but not in this case whatsoever, quite the opposite actually. I came across DKUK because I liked the ethos behind the whole offering - no mirrors, compassion, a lovely team and a calm environment! To play on a quote from Fleabag "Hair is everything!" well it is and it isn't, but it's an important wellness step in feeling confident and good about yourself. From the get-go, the whole experience was excellent. The space and ambiance was relaxing and DK was welcoming. My biggest praise of all goes to Vera, who as well as a fantastic, skilled stylist, is a lovely human being. She was patient, compassionate and gentle, never felt quite as well listened to by a hairdresser, ever. I left the salon with a lovely haircut with revitalised curls (compliments all week), plenty of tips and feeling like a fresher, more confident version of myself than the person who stepped in (God, maybe hair is everything..). So big, big thank you Vera, lucky to have come across her. :) Can't recommend DKUK Salon enough! A credit. These guys care.
I came to DKUK in December 2024 for a huge Transformation Culy Cut and I’ve been back so many times! I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever go to another hair sanctuary again. All of the staff are so lovely and friendly, and having your hair cut in front of art and no mirrors is a really great experience! Sebastian cut my hair the first time and I’ve been back with Idi who is equally as incredible! Lovely hair salon and really lovely community of human beings!
Such a great experience! Jasmine is an amazing hairdresser and genuinely cares about bringing your vision to life. Very nice service offering beverages and head massage when you get your hair washed. An interesting concept with no mirrors and showcasing an artist with positive messages around the shop. 10/10 service and love my new haircut!
This was my first visit to DKUK, but it won't be my last. I love the concept of looking at art whilst having my hair done. It made the experience so much more relaxing and enjoyable. The team was welcoming and friendly. I am immunocompromised and still have to wear a mask. They accommodated this perfectly, but also went above and beyond by putting on masks of their own whilst I was in the salon. I hadn't had my hair cut in three years due to the pandemic and severe illness, so the visit to the salon and the haircut was a real treat. Lidia listened to me, offered great suggestions, and gave me the perfect hair cut. I cannot recommend this salon highly enough.
I had an amazing time here, my stylist (I think her name was Jasmine or Jasmina sorry if I’ve got that wrong) was so thorough and considerate, she gave me a full hair consultation and loads of great advice. It’s a very calming relaxing place to be, a lovely head massage whilst you’re shampooed, and beautiful artwork everywhere. The cut I got was expertly done and now my hair looks healthy and shiny. 10/10 absolutely loved it!
Really nice place to get a hair cut! It's the first time I go to a different hairdresser in 15 years. I've been going to the same place in France but I decided to finally take the jump and Daniel was perfect, he knew exactly how to define my curls. Thanks a lot will definitely come back!
As someone who is normally terrified of the hairdressers, I was anxious going to DKUK. However I needn’t have been! Idi’s consultation before my ‘no chat’ hair cut was thorough and quick and they offered a great hair treatment. I sat without looking at a mirror (amazing) and came out feeling incredibly relaxed with the best, most natural haircut I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend!
