Amazing experience at Headmasters Dulwich. Keelin was fantastic, my colour and curly hair was great. Literally everyone at my works Christmas dinner said my hair was gorgeous, what more can I say. 5 star plus. Thank you Keelin.
I called to book a moisturising treatment for today. They checked availability and then asked if I wanted it with a cut or a blow-dry, since apparently it has to be booked with one of the two. I said I didn’t need a cut, so I’d have to choose a blow-dry — but I explained that I have very curly hair and prefer to let it dry naturally. Right after that, I was told there was no longer any availability for the day. The whole exchange left me feeling quite uneasy — it just didn’t feel transparent or entirely genuine.
I’ve been to this salon a couple of times and was really happy with my cut and style previously. This time I asked for balayage and asked for it to only run through the bottom half of my head. …What I received was thick streaks all the way up to my parting when I didn’t want them placed that high. Additionally, the streaks were not consistently spread throughout my hair and I had extreme streaks on one side of my head. On top of this, my cut was wonky with one side of my hair longer than the other side. This cut and colour was not cheap and it honestly looked like I had attempted to streak my hair at home - it was that amateur. It was giving badger highlights of the 2000’s vibe! The service was friendly which is why I’m giving this place two stars but my god the actual cut and colour was horrific and this was the first time in my adult years that I felt genuinely embarrassed to leave the house with my awful orange, thick streaks. This was by far the worst salon I’ve ever had balayage in- my hair has been ruined! Safe to say I won’t ever be returning here.
I went in with brassy, grown-out hair and left with the most beautiful sandy balayage. Emily was everything you could want in a hairdresser: kind, attentive, and incredibly skilled. From the start, she took the time to listen carefully to what I wanted. During the consultation, she made sure we were totally on the same page, checking in on what I meant versus what she understood. All the way through, she explained what she was doing and kept asking for my input, so I felt completely confident I was getting exactly what I wanted. On top of that, she gives the most amazing head massages and was an absolute joy to chat with. Couldn’t recommend her more.
EDITED. I was contacted by Headmaster and offered a correction appointment free of charge by one of the managers and this time the haircut and blow-dry were flawless ❤️. I, as the person on the review below, thought hard about leaving this review but I don't think the result is acceptable and other potential customers should be aware. The cut I was given by Ellie was very uneven (when I specifically asked for a straight cut) and a blow dry that was nothing like the one I showed the "stylist", I asked for a very soft wave on the ends, she curled my hair half way down and did not give me any volume on the top, looked awful and nothing like I had asked, when I mentioned to her I wasn't happy with the finish she said she couldn't do anything. I just think this is not very professional at all! I literally went home and washed my hair that evening. The difference in length from one side to the other is shocking.
I had my hair cut and curled at headmasters (second time I’ve been). The first time was great and I had a lovely bouncy blow dry however, rather than a bouncy blow dry this time, waves were done afterwards using a straightener and I’m quite disappointed with the finish. I love going for a bouncy blow dry as it’s something I can’t do at home but this time I’m going to need to recurl it myself as parts are still straight and it’s quite fluffy. I had asked for a bouncy blow dry at the start so just a little disappointed this time round.
A fantastic cut and blow dry by stylist Chantelle. My hair feels in such great condition now and my blow dry has made my hair look so silky smooth. Thank you for a lovely experience!
I am absolutely delighted with the results of my colouring appointment with Lauren yesterday. I had a very i vague idea of the effect i was hoping for, and she managed to get the final effect exactly as i had hoped for. I will most definitely be booking with Lauren again in future, and would like to thank her. I would also like to pay a tribute to the person who washed my hair. She was very sweet and gentle, giving me a lovely head massage at the end. A very pleasing visit to East Dulwich Headmasters.
Montana and everyone is amazing here. It’s a really calm and considerate experience. Thanks for always making me look and feel 100% better than my average every time I visit! Great quality at reasonable prices.
