   Been a few times now and finally ate here as well — the food was great. Simple menu, but everything is done really well and clearly thought through. We watched Puss in Boots with the children and family and it was an extremely enjoyable experience. The show was brilliant and the children absolutely loved it. A really welcoming venue with a great atmosphere — we’ll definitely be back.

   Fantastic family run puppet theatre tucked away in Cumbria. Just took the family to see Puss in Boots on Christmas Eve and it was a real treat. John and the team answered questions at the end about the puppets and shared some of their fascinating history. We are staying on site in one of the cabins which is warm and cosy and within easy reach of the Lakes. With a hot tub and sauna too it’s a perfect place to unwind. The cafe serves delicious food. Absolutely recommend a visit.

   We come every year for the Christmas Eve puppet show and it is always magnificent. All of the staff are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The puppeteers answer all the children's questions at the end and there is always the chance to have your picture taken with the puppets. There are sweets and drinks for sale as well as ice cream for the interval. Support this wonderful, small local business to keep the magic going.

   We just returned from a wonderful lunch and afternoon at Upfront Art Venue. The puppet show was absolutely delightful, and the venue itself is charming and intimate. The staff were incredibly welcoming and generously shared their knowledge of puppetry, which made the experience even more special. It’s truly a hidden gem in the area. The café offers an excellent selection of vegetarian dishes, all equally delicious. Everything looked freshly made, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended!

   Fabulous puppet theatre with a magical production. Cafe is nice but no kids menu and difficult to find something for a picky 9 year old & portuon & price a bit big/steep for what they ate. Would prob just get drink & pud/cake ( the sticky toffee was amazing) and have meal before or after elsewhere. Will definitely return for another performance of the puppets all ages would enjoy.

   Second time at Upfront for the same puppet show 4 years on. Wonderful place, warm, welcoming, affordable and great all vegetarian food! I say that as a lover of meat. The marionette puppet show of the snow queen was well produced and performed, magical and exciting. We always walk away with a new hand puppet and something for my wife. We're making it an annual tradition to see the Christmas puppet show after a meal here when we travel to see family at Christmas.

   A friend of ours took us here today for lunch. Super tasty food, vegetarian only, I had an excellent toated croissant with mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto and a side of chips (fries). It tasted amazing. Very friendly service, plenty of parking. They have log cabins available to rent on property. Come by and enjoy some lunch!!!
