   2 weeks ago, I had a brilliant pedicure by one of the senior manicurists, Josefa. She was kind, attentive, and patient. I struggle with ingrown toenails and was in a bit of pain. I explained my situation to her, and she was willing and more than well-equipped to assist. She took her time with me and did not rush despite having a client after me; she wanted to finish the job well and stayed with me until she ensured I was satisfied and that I was no longer in discomfort. I highly recommend Josefa to anyone who is looking for a seasoned manicurist/pedicurist who is knowledgeable, professional, and delivers exceptional quality and service. Thank you, Josefa.

   I absolutely loved my first manicure at Marcela’s. Victoria was fantastic, so attentive and worked wonders as my hands and nails were looking rather rough following our renovations! The whole team are friendly and professional and it is a lovely environment, so relaxing.

   I regularly do gel manicure and tried this place for the first time given the good reviews. Spent a whopping £70 on just a simple gel manicure and 3 out of the 10 nails chipped in less than a week, which never happened to me before. Very disappointed and feel ripped off.

   Probably the most thoroughly made shellac nails I have had. Lovely place and great customer service. The sweet lady making my nails took extra time to ensure everything was perfect. One pays a bit more compared to other places but the result also lasts longer. I can definitely recommend Marcela's.

   They have a very small selection of shellac colours and the AC stuck to the ceiling blowing cold wind right on top of the costumers head. I complained and the nail artist even said she could feel my hands were so cold, so the receptionist turned it off. A few minutes later she switched it back on after a rude angry lady (that must be in the menopause) started ventilating about how hot she felt. I was almost done with my nails and she could have waited until I was done to turn it back on, but she didn’t. After I was done I went to get vitamin C, because my nose was running and I had a terrible headache. If that wasn’t enough, they are the most expensive salon I’ve been in Kensington, but don’t take American Express. Basically, I never had such a negative experience in any other salon in this area. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the nail artist was ok.

   I think my review was taken down, because the owner didn’t want anyone to know that they are not having high hygienic standard. If I could I would give zero stars. The salon gave me nail fungi that I am fighting to this day - 4y ago, spend lots of money for zillion different things to help but keeps coming back. When I visited salon I was clearly one of the last ones there and made feel like they can’t wait for me to leave so they can close the salon. There were 3 big chairs for pedicure downstairs and I was sat in the middle one. I noticed straight away that the pool under the chair on my right was very dirty and thought to myself how disgusting, how come they leave it like that and for the costumer to see - there was no one who came to clean that in the whole hour I was there. The tools that the lady who did my pedicure used seemed like someone would brought it from home, and put it in a little hamper, it did not look very clean or professional. I was not use to that, as prior to this pedicure I would only have pedicure in one place where it was very medically done and all clearly sterilised. But I knew nothing of nail fungi so I wasn’t stressing although there were so many red flags. So fast forward once I wanted to took my nail polish off my nail under was all crumbly and horrible, but I’ll spare the details of that. All I want to say is be careful when going to this salon. Nail fungi is apparently forever and I’m so upset I’m stuck with this because of their negligence and poor hygiene. AVOID AT ALL COST!

   Sonia did an absolutely incredible job on my nails! I came in with a picture I found on Instagram, and she went above and beyond to ensure absolute perfection in achieving the look I wanted! The spa is beautiful, and all of the staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to go back!
