Really lovely welcome, very friendly staff. They take card payments & I am so happy with my nails. They look fantastic!

I haven’t left a bad review because I had a lovely time at Millie’s but I’m not entirely happy with the results. I had an acrylic extension with nail art appointment. Had my technician told me that he didn’t feel able to do the nail art, I would have been very happy to choose something simpler - I even asked a couple of times if that would be better as he did seem slightly uncomfortable while attempting it. I left relatively happy, as it seemed good enough but in the past 3/4 days the wear and tear is considerable. I think due to air bubbles in the gel upon application. Also the acrylics themselves are mostly fine but I did have to file the sides of a few of them as they were digging painfully into my cuticle. Again, I have not left a bad review as I did have a pleasant experience and found everyone who works at Millie’s very lovely.

I was in doubt about writing a review on here but thought its only right for me to do so to share my experience. I initially booked to have gel polish on my feet on Tuesday 25th June at millies. I was very much looking forward to this as I was 2 months postpartum and needed some self care. A middle aged woman did them for me without any preparation or removing any cuticles. At the time it was not explained to me that I would need to have a full Pedicure for this to happen as with gel polish they do not provide this level of service apparently (I had never experienced this before in all the nail salons I had been to. It was standard to remove cuticles before applying just a gel or normal polish - this is done automatically). She was also very rough in the way she would pull and push my feet. I then asked if I could also have gel polish on my nails before I left the salon because I thought why not. David took me over and we began talking. I did not pay attention to the fact that he just ended up applying the gel polish without removing the cuticles or really buffing my nails. In total I paid £58 and left the shop (£32 for feet and £26 for nails). Once I left and got home and had a close look I realised that I was not happy with my nails as they looked like they were done at home (DIY) with all my cuticles. They looked awful. Even my friends really did not like them. In all my experiences all the nail salons I have been to, it has been a standard procedure to remove cuticles before applying polish - gel or normal. When I messaged the salon on Instagram - David called me and we discussed this. He explained that I needed to apparently book for a manicure or pedicure if I wanted cuticles removed. Apparently it is in the manicure and pedicure service to have this done if not you’re just getting the paint as they did to me. I said well I didn’t know that and this should have been explained to me as who would want paint on their nails and toes without cuticles being removed? He said that if I go back and paid the extra £10 he would be happy to upgrade to a manicure and then remove cuticles for me. I did not go back as I am disappointed and dissatisfied. I am extremely shocked with their services and the way they treated me when I told them I was not happy with the service.

I went with 2 friends to get nails done. Never had extensions before but they were done very well. Kind staff who pay close attention to detail and lovely place. My friend got coloured French tips and is very pleased. Great experience!

I am following up the previous review and your response to it. As the person who bought the voucher for my auntie I would like to clarify the following: 1. I provided proof of payment for this transaction which included a map of payment showing city of London which I can confirm is where your sumup payment systems HQ is located and my bank confirmed this for me. For you to suggest it was another salon is upsetting as the transaction clearly states Millie’s Nails of which there is only one, yours! 2. When I called you to try to resolve the matter I asked you kindly to treat my auntie nicely and call me upon her departure to resolve this. I left my number and you failed to do either. 3. I have a photograph of the voucher you gave me at the time i purchased it in person in your salon. A hand written code on your price list in your managers handwriting. At the time of purchase you claimed you had run out of gift vouchers and this was sufficient. You added the code to a little book behind the counter and never once mentioned a 3 month expiry. I was so upset to hear that you made my auntie uncomfortable, upset and made to feel untrustworthy by not having understanding/remembering your own system. I would be more than happy to try to resolve this and you have my number to do so. I live in East Dulwich and try to support local businesses as much as I can. You have my number.

Having been bought a gift of a mani pedi in person over the counter in the lordship lane shop, where they had run out of vouchers. I went to have a pedicure only to find that they couldn’t find details of the voucher code we had been given. Nowhere was it written that the voucher expired in three months. Through incompetence in the booking system and despite producing a receipt of payment I was made to feel as if I was guilty of something. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned into a very upsetting and aggressive response from the managers as they obviously didn’t want to honour the voucher. I was questioned and questioned and had to call the person who had bought the very generous present. They were unapologetic and made me cry. Not a nice atmosphere or approach to new customers.
