   Double check everything from this accountancy business! After using this company for just over 2 years a new employee where I work noticed something strange with the amount of tax he had been paying in relation to his pension. We all checked our wage slips and all of us had the same anomaly. We then questioned the accountant to which the reply was "its normal, its just a different way of doing it", "oh I don't do the payroll" blah blah blah. We looked into this further, I emailed the pension company and got a swift response confirming the accountant had been calculating the tax incorrectly. My employer contacted the accountant several times about this issue, but to no avail. The accountant made no effort whatsoever, fobbed us all off with "I'll look into it" etc..... The accountant has had several months to put this right, or even come up with a half decent excuse. We have now moved to a new accountant who is fixing this issue. I've over paid tax by several hundred pounds, and the new accountant is saving my employer thousands! Give Phoenix Tax Services Ltd a wide birth!
