I went to Lester & Brown to get an engagement ring and set of wedding rings following a recommendation from a family friend. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to choose an engagement ring. Ian and Ben were so helpful and patient in helping us choose and design the custom ring that we wanted and I ended up with the perfect ring! The communication with Ben was fantastic. The rings were ready in line with the times agreed and I’m so happy with what we chose!
I had the most surprisingly amazing experience designing an engagement ring with Ian at Lester & Browns! If you're looking to impress and add a personal touch, designing your own ring is the way to go. I cannot recommend their family business enough! I really did learn alot! Ian is a very passionate which I found infectious and I definitely deveopled a real interest in the process. I started my search for an engagement ring completely clueless and visited multiple jewelers around Manchester. Lester & Browns was the last place I went to, and I'm so glad I did! Ian made me feel immediately comfortable and suggested the idea of designing my own ring. He was incredibly helpful and gave me all the time I needed. I had a tight deadline for the ring, as I planned to propose during our holiday in Italy. Ian went above and beyond to ensure that the ring was ready in time. He even worked on a Sunday and after business hours to make it happen. I went in with a few ideas, like using a yellow sapphire, and Ian ordered them in without any pressure. But then, we came up with the brilliant idea of using a more affordable lab-grown 'yellow diamond', and I was sold! After the proposal, my fiancé and I went back to Lester & Browns for a ring size adjustment and to have some professional photos taken. It was great to involve her in the process and meet Ian after all my sneaking around! Not only did I end up with a beautiful engagement ring that received countless compliments, but I also feel like I made a lifelong friendship with Ian. I will definitely be going back to Lester & Browns for any future jewelry needs.
Ian and David are both very experienced jewellers in which you can trust. They provide a very friendly yet high level of customer service and invest a lot of time and effort to make sure you come away with the right piece of jewellery either for yourself or as a gift. We've been customers for over 16 years and have bought both stock and bespoke pieces, new and pre-owned watches and they also provide all of our insurance valuations which we renew regularly to make sure of the correct cover. When they've made bespoke pieces, after an initial design brief has been established you get to see a computer generated image so any tweaks can be made to your exact requirements - they're also very good at coming up with designs if you're not sure yourself. The after care services they offer; cleaning of jewellery, repair services, re-plating etc is also brilliant. If you want to feel like a valued customer then Lester and Brown will make that happen. We hope to continue to use their services for many years to come. Thanks Ian and David for all of the pieces of our family's jewellery history you've supplied over the years. P.S. the watch batteries are still going strong!
I had an owl necklace that had broken, and the lovely lady who was in the shops fixed it for me, for free, which was surprising, cos I had a similar one, that I had that was also broken, and when I went to Christopher Evans, was told that it would cost me more than the necklace was worth… so a big thank you to lester and brown Tho it was some years ago that this happened, so I don’t know if they do the same service. But hopefully they still do…
The gem in the village of Poynton is Lester and Brown Jewellers. I recently had a hand injury which made wearing my wedding ring and engagement impossible . I had an idea to combine both rings and called into Lester and Brown. I asked if this was possible, Ian said yes and asked how I wanted it designing . I didn’t have a clue Ian was so patient with me and offered to send me some cad designs . A week later I was back having measurements taken. Within a month I am the proud owner of a beautiful bespoke ring Attention to detail all the way . So friendly and went that extra mile to ensure I was happy with the finished product . I recommend anyone who wants something unique, to give Lester and Brown a ring .

I recently collected my ring from Lester & Brown and I am delighted with it. I had an eternity ring that sat unworn in my jewellery box and my friend persuaded me to take it to Lester & Brown. I am so glad I did!! David spent time talking through options and then sent me photographs of CAD designs so I could look at the stones in different settings. The service that David and Ian provided was fabulous from start to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend them!
