   Brilliant is the only way to describe this place. We went there yesterday to look at engagement rings and wedding rings . Our appointment was with David what an absolute gent he was professional and lovely. He advised us on the best ring combinations nothing was too much trouble for him. We look forward to going back to collect the rings. David you are a star . Thank you. We collected the engagement ring yesterday and it fits perfectly. Once again David was so lovely he even broke off from his lunch break .. bless him . Nothing is too much trouble for him. He really does go above and beyond. Thank you David no wonder you work in a jewellers you are a gem. See you soon when we return for the wedding rings xxx Went to collect the wedding rings today once again impeccable service from David and his professional advice on which were the best wedding rings to go with my engagement ring turned out to be a perfect match.    Brilliant service - I sent my engagement ring which came from Hancocks 30 years ago, to be repaired. Alison was absolutely great and could not have been been more helpful. I am delighted with the ring which has been beautiful restored. Would thoroughly recommend.

   We could not have had a more magical experience here! My husband picked my engagement ring with David and he gave him such thoughtful and experienced advice! We came back to resize and order our wedding rings and he was there again to assist and was so patient and kind to us. Again, without booking an appointment, we went in to pick up the rings and he was there again :) what made it even more special was that it turned out it was David’s Birthday on our wedding day. Thank you so much David, you are awesome!

   Absolutely appalling customer service. When we chose our wedding rings, my husband and I wanted to support an independent jeweller in the city where we’d met. Despite being told that the first resize was free, and that it would take a maximum of two weeks, we were told that it may attract a “small fee”, due to us having bought the rings pre-Covid. Having waited over four weeks to have my wedding ring returned, my husband went to collect it today to be met with a £165 fee!!! When he expressed his shock and horror at the amount (certainly not “a small fee”) he was told that Hancocks had called “Rosie” to get the amount approved. Given we know nobody called Rosie, and certainly haven’t received a call ourselves, we are appalled by this “Hancock” up (excuse the pun). We managed to negotiate the fee down to £75, but we remain incredibly disappointed by Hancocks’ total lack of customer care, inability to keep to their word and extortionate rates that are only communicated to customers once the work has been completed. I had planned to purchase my eternity ring from them, but instead I will be avoiding at all costs and taking my business to a jeweller who treats their customers with respect and integrity.

   We have been buying from Hancock’s for many years and they have always provided an excellent service. The quality of the jewellery they sell, in particular the precious stones, is far superior to general high street jewellers. They will always allow you as much time as you need, giving good advice but allowing you to choose what is right for you. One really good thing we have found is they recognise that, no matter what your budget, the purchase could be a significant for you. In our experience, whether you are spending hundreds of pounds or many thousands, you will get the same high standard of service.

   My son surprised me with a beautiful Diamond and Ruby ring for my special birthday from Hancocks. The ring is stunning and my son received excellent service and advice from the staff. The staff took there time in guiding him to the perfect ring and took his requests into consideration to make the gift extra special. The presentation of the ring on the day was fabulous. Thanks Hancocks for making my gift so perfect.
