I recently bought a Hawksmoor electric mower and got to the last step in assembly which was the grass box. Nightmare: it was misshapen, two of us took ages to admit defeat, the two parts it came in would not click together. I was annoyed by the prospect of having to disassemble the mower and take it back. But this is a review of the shop. I took the whole lot back to Dulwich Toolstation without packing it up, and showed the staff the box which they agreed did not look right. Two guys spent 15 minutes patiently struggling with it, and after much laughter and banter, click, they sorted it. Ace service! Now for the lawn. Only four stars because of the crap box.

Normally happy with toolstation but some of the staff at this branch have a bad attitude to customer service. 2 of them standing out the front for a good 15 minutes having a smoke and chat taking their sweet time whilst letting the queues build up inside and leaving their single colleague alone to deal with it all. Not on.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! The worst customer service. Very little care about their own error and no apologies I purchased couple of field gate hinges set online to collect at this shop (West Dulwich), however when trying to collect them, I was told that they didnt have it in stock to come back 2 days later. When I went back, they said there was some issues with the order and the had 2 of the items only and they had to order again the 3rd item. Due to the inconveniente, I was told that I am getting a free item. When I returned to the shop for the third time, the attendant said that there was no free item and that it was a mistake from the previous attendant. Very little remorse for the inconvenience and the multiple errors they have caused.

Just the worst. Terrible incompetence. Ordered online for next day delivery, didnβt arrive, went back 2 days later, still not arrived, collected one week later and parts missing. No apology, just attitude and dire customer service. Avoid at all costs and go somewhere else

I ordered items for same day collection. Was told in an email that my items were in stock and that I would receive a text message instructing me they were ready to collect that day. No text arrived that day or the following day so I phoned the store but went straight to answerphone telling me the store will be opened again after the weekend despite the website telling me it was currently open.I went to collect anyway and explained to the half asleep young woman that I hadnβt received a text and she told me just because it says same day it doesnβt necessarily mean same day. She then sent me the text message. Unbelievable. I explained that it had put me a day behind on the job. She just started at me. I said βno apology then?β Just a blank stare. The worst customer service Iβve ever received.

Very slow service, will send you a text to tell you that order is ready to collect and when you get there tell you it's not in stock. Save your time and go to a competent company

Why is it that at the Dulwich branch in London that what used to be click and collect only, and was very quick to get the items we needed. And it is now seemingly possible for people to turn up without an order and just hold up a huge queue of people that have followed the rules and ordered online. I think this is ridiculous, and I hope you can return to online only and keep it that way forever as it was such a smooth service, quick, easy and effortless. Now every trip to toolstation is 20 mins waiting instead of 30 seconds making it not viable to use in a working day What a disaster of staff not following the business own rules...
