Really quiet and hidden away. Interesting to see the remains and a small stream close by is perfect for photos.

Clearance of the overgrown Lido continues with a second visit by Manchester based Sky UK engineers. Yesterday we uncovered the main turnstile entrance exit where back in the 1930's. you had to pay a penny to swim in this open air pool. There are lots more to see and do in this park then ever before, The Friends of Heaton Park face book group, has over 3000 members who share their experience and historical knowledge of the Park. It's worth a look in.

This evening I was shown the Lido and I must say one can see the hard work of clearing the area that has already been done. Thank you for all your hard work.Theres still alot to be done and I hope there will be some help to complete the Lido how you would like it to be

A work in progress. Fantastic group of volunteers are transforming this area. I hope they semi-restore the Lido to what is was! Friends of Heaton Park..... well done! Mammoth effort! The stone rectangle is an old footbath.
