A lovely place to visit if you are around the Kinder area or Hayfield area. This place is tranquil, but has been spoilt at times by fly campers, (fly campers are the ones that buy cheap tents, buy beers, etc, then go up to an area, then dump their rubbish and some of their kit, rather than carry it back down). Wild campers ARE NOT associated with fly campers! Wild campers leave no trace when they leave a spot that they have stayed at. If you do visit the Mermaid's Pool, and you see any rubbish, if you have a bag, could you carry a bit down with you, please. Every time I visit, if I see any rubbish, I carry as much as I can back down. A place of beauty that needs to stay beautiful for the people that visit.

Amazing views. Brutal to get to but a beautiful location. Not necessarily on a marked path but if you're brave you can get to it. The slog is back up the hill on the way out. Be prepared for a tough steep uphill incline and boggy ground

A really spiritual experience to visit in all weathers dont give up on the journey up the mountain once you reach the trig point keep wandering you wont be disappointed theres also a cheeky infinity pool if your feeling brave take a towel and embrace the cold water therapy.

Didn't actually manage to make it there. Review is more of a cautionary one. We parked in Bowden carpark and walked up the trail and it took about 45 mins before we vered off path as I thought I had found a shortcut. If you do this be warned it's very trecharous in parts with high ferns and footholes. Had to turn back before we made it but we could see where the pool would be. We probably could've made it but we're weary about time. Recommend following the trail for as long as possible.

Camping here for the night was great! We stayed quite close to the edge for the view but the wind came too!

Lovely hidden gem, water level was fairly low today (on account of our recent lack of rain) but it doubles perfectly well as a picnic spot. The hike up is challenging, but incredibly fun - especially if you stick to the stream itself and don't mind getting wet.

Gorgeous spot for wild swimming, amazing views and not too cold when we visited at the start of May. A strenuous hike to get there along a really beautiful river. Only downside was the the pool has a lot of mud/silt in it. Expect to get this in your costume and everywhere else! Wetsuit shoes are very helpful.

Fantastic place to visit, well off the beaten path so if you can find it it’s breath taking, just don’t give up when you get to the forest you don’t have to much further to go. If you camp be respectful and don’t have fires, there’s clearly been a lot of wild camping in the forest and up at mermaids pool. Golden rule of wild camping is leave no trace and don’t have fires! Don’t stop wild camping for the rest of us!
