   Had a shocking experience, signed up on the 26th and they did a deal on 28th. Asked could we get the deal it’s only been two days after signing up to be told there’s no way. I mean if we have used it before I’d get that but I paid for two memberships. That’s like £100 difference and I’m still in a cancellation period. Whole experience left a bad taste and overall poor customer service to not show any empathy no one’s likes the feeling of being ripped off

   awful place, so run down not one aspect of this place is in a good condition (did not use gym went in family changing room and the pools) it was so dirty and the changing rooms STUNK the pool was so cold i have never been in a pool that cold my sons lips where blue by the end. a lifguard stood there wetting everyone with a hose pipe making the water and us even colder i really was just counting down the seconds to leave. we then went in the baby pool as i could no longer take it! it was warn but it had a tinge of brown/yellow and the floor had a sheen on aswell as slightly sticky. the water was also salty. would not return here at all whole experience was just awful i never write reviews but felt it was nesassary.

   I have been a member for quite a while, and go to Marl Pits gym. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The cardio equipment has just been replaced, and looks great. A lot of work has gone into this refurb.

   Unfortunately this place is in need of some serious TLC. Changing rooms are horrendous. Walls peeling away. Not sure they are ever cleaned as clumps of hair everywhere. 3 dirty nappies on the floor. Seems it’s ran by kids. Reported the nappies to someone and 1hr later not only were they still there but more had accumulated l. I appreciate the customers should be cleaning up after there children but staff should also be checking. Only one shower in changing rooms and they have the cheek to charge 20p for a locker. I know it’s small change but when it’s not cleaned or maintained.

   Staff are friendly, but the gym is pretty basic… and is like going back in time to the noughties… feels a bit like an old people’s home too. I swear one old guy would just sit on the equipment and not exercise, which is annoying because they don’t have much kit to begin with.

   I don't use the gym so can't comment on it. I do use the swimming pool and never have any problems with overcrowding. There are some occasions when swimming lessons are going on in the main pool so they section off part of the pool. Not really a hassle most of the time. Changing rooms are average but can be annoying when the light which is in a sensor switches off and the sensor is at the other end of the changing room. Lockers are 20p nonrefundable. I use the pool several times a week and buy a 12 swim pass which is the price of 10 swims.
