Huge thanks to the incredible guide, Mick, whose passion, knowledge, and storytelling brought York’s history vividly to life. This was without question one of the best walking tours I have ever experienced! Over the two hours, I learned fascinating stories and details I would never have discovered after wandering the city on my own. This tour elevated my two-day visit, deepened my appreciation for York, and reminded me just how powerful a great guided tour can be. An outstanding experience that I cannot recommend highly enough!

Make a reservation and take the tour- you won't regret it. We had an very informative walking tour with Kevin. This 75 year old association provides a wonderful service to introduce their city to visitors. And it's all for free.

The love for York and its rich history was evident in our guide. Fraser did a fantastic job bringing the stories to life and pointing out things we would have never known or seen otherwise.

Kevin was such a knowledgeable guide! We really enjoyed the two-hour walking tour, and it’s amazing that it was all free through the Association of Voluntary Guides of York. He took us along the Roman walls and explained the timeline of when the Romans and Vikings arrived in York, which made the city’s history so much easier to picture. Such a great way to see York definitely support these volunteers if you get the chance!

My sisters and I joined the 2-hour tour today with Helen, who was very insightful and knowledgeable of York’s history. This walking tour is free. We joined the 10:30 am slot, which started on time. Helen walked us through many places with interesting stories, and we enjoyed the whole experience. It was a well-planned guided walk, and we didn’t feel rushed. For us, it was easy the best tour we have experienced so far, and you can’t find a better way to explore York! It is highly recommended!
