I only use the skatepark but it's really good for Β£4, it could use a bit of a refurb in places because it's well used and the bowl is a bit dirty but compared to the other indoor skateparks round here it's great value for money.

I'm a member of Wigan council gyms but today Howe bridge wouldn't let me use their gym as a one off as I hadn't had a gym introduction. 15 years training in a gym and 10+ years of being a Wigan council gym member.. and still no. Ridiculous procedure and seemly no logic applied by centre staff. They would however let me use the steam and sauna with no introduction... Work that one out. Avoid this centre if you can, Leigh is much better.

My daughter visited with scouts, and we stayed through the visit. The entrance, it's bright, clean and spacious. My daughter is 12 and was there to enjoy time at the climbing walls. This area I felt was quite small, and for children of a younger age as she didn't find it challenging. Within the same area is a mini skateboard park, it is very small. The price wasn't particularly cheap, I thought, especially considering she was part of a scout group.

If you want your children to be terrified of swimming and never want to go again, this is the place for lessons. We paid for lessons and lasted two weeks of watching our daughter being berated and belittled for nothing more than a healthy fear of water. She fortunately decided she wanted to go with me, and did 11 lengths in her swim vest last week, unfortunately her school goes here instead of the pelican centre on a monday now, so sunday nights are tearful events because she doesnt want to go here but does enjoy swimming and doesnt want to miss out. In short an outdated and twisted mentality to teaching, based around shouting and shaming, whilst remaining bereft of any encouragement or reward.

We use the swimming pool on a twice weekly basis with our young grandchildren. The little pool is warm, large pool obviously cooler. Was busy this week with it being half term. I would love the showers to be on a longer timer though.

Change facilities are in desperate need of upgrade. Also donβt think they are being checked regularly as floor filthy towels were black when we were trying to get dry. The small cafe was lovely and the pool itself was absolutely fine

Decent facilities, seem recently updated and well looked after. Swimming pool is ample sized, βfun and floatsβ session was about 12 floats in the pool and thatβs it!
