Customer service is shocking, no membership team so have to talk online. Staff inside is nice but the way the membership team handles stuff is pathetic. Because I changed my payment method I was treated as a fresh member, disregarding the benefits I should have been receiving as an old member and extending my cancellation by 3 months. Cancellation was effective feb so I rang to get it ended in Jan as I moved. I was refunded my december fees and told my membership ends first of Jan. So as you do I went gym in december. A few days ago i received a email about recurring payment, the app still said feb 1st. So i went back to online assistance where this guy says that because i went a few days in december it started again. The previous person told me it ends in Jan so clearly its a communication problem on their side. He shouldve said effective immediately. Now theyre trying to charge me 110 for going for 2 days after the guy refunded me although he said it ends 1st Jan. WHAT ELSE ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO THINK OTHER THAN THAT YOU CAN GO IN DECEMBER. Decent gym. Decent steam room. Tidgy sauna. Done a renovation for 3 months just to change the tiles and nothing else. Online assistance is down in the gutter. Not worth the hassle.

DL used to be committed to tennis. Now they are ripping up indoor courts to lay padel courts. They claim proudly in their marketing materials "this is YOUR club..." but do not engage members before making any changes which have wide reaching impacts. We will now have only 1 hour to play best of 3 tennis matches as a result of their removal of 1/3rd of the indoor courts. To compound matters, they have a bubble to cover the outside courts which has been in need of repair for the past 5 years! They come up with excuse after excuse as to why they havent fixed it. As it is, the floodlights on the outside courts have been faulty for years and the surface of the hard courts is so badly cracked in places that your average park courts are in better condition. I've been a member of DL for 20 years but in recent years their clear money grabbing agenda at the cost of members is becoming insufferable. The introduction of padel is welcome. It's a good thing. But not at the expense of tennis - in addition to tennis. As a low level club by their own tier system, DL Man North members cannot use the facilities at the other nearby clubs which are on a higher tier (Trafford, Cheadle, Bolton) - yet the members from these clubs will be able to play padel and tennis at DL Man North. Who suffers? Our members. I've already had numerous messages from members in these clubs expressing how they are excited to play indoor padel at DL Man North (they have only outdoor padel). So many of our members will find it more difficult to book padel courts and tennis courts! Quite how DL they were allowed to have a virtual monopoly on indoor tennis in the UK is beyond me, and I cant quite forgive the LTA for not stepping in to object. Because, now, with the rampant growth of the high yield padel craze, they can significantly reduce their indoor tennis facilities and know that there is little competition. We have become hostages to DL. I fear tennis may well be a dying sport in the UK and DL (ironically which started out as a tennis club) is playing a significant role in it's decline... Right, cue the "cookie cutter" "we're excited to be bringing padel..." response, which arguably epitomises the way any issues are dealt with... (I don't blame the staff at MN - they're lovely tbf, but the senior management at HO however...)

Been a member here for well over 10 years and I got removed from the club for an incident where I was verbally threatened and abused by a convicted criminal the gym took the criminals side and I was used as a scape goat and to this day I still don’t know what or why I was removed apart from protecting myself what an absolute embarrassment this gym is! I was also in the changing rooms and my daughter came looking for me in the sauna she’s 11 as she came in I told her she should not be in here and we were walking out at which point Sarah the manager came barging in and spoke very aggressively towards us and said children shouldn’t be in here ( I might add children are in there on many occasions as well as in the gym which is a general health and safety issue!) my daughter was simply looking for me absolutely horrible unkind person to shout at us like that before asking about why she was in there ! So not only do they not like children they also endorse criminals ! my advice would be to anyone joining don’t do it save your money. To be honest they did me a massive favour but I wanted to share this honest review to let people know what kind of a place they are getting involved with. They didn’t believe a word I said I mean imagine treating your loyal customers in that way David Lloyd your a disgusting place and I feel a moment of happiness that I will never set foot in that hell hole of a gym again. The facilities are very old and never fixed anyway it gets tiresome after a while asking for things to be fixed when your paying a fortune in gym fees - don’t be fooled people join JD gyms in Middleton it wipes the floor with this gym and had loads of new gym machines all in good working order and a floor without holes oh and all treadmills working All they care about is money and new members once they have you in situ they do not give a rats arse about you and believe me I was spending a small fortune in that place what a lot of money I’m now saving ! Photo of kids in the gym !

Amazing! The best thing we ever did was join here. The facilities and classes are brilliant. Changing rooms are new and clean. The staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful. Special mentions to Ellie who showed us around and signed us up, Connor who is always a friendly face and happy to help in any way he can and Paul in the clubhouse who all make us feel so welcome and at ease every time we come to the club. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are very professional in all they do and friendly and chatty at the same time. A lovely club with good energy from all the staff and a happy relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing club, go all the time. The best thing is to drop the kids off for an hour or two or even three in various fun active classes and go do what i need to do. Very smart. Loads of events, classes, activities, parties, and spacious function room to hire. Nice balloons all the time, too

DL Manchester North definitely need improvement out of all the DL in Manchester this one isn't up to standard at all. Staff is always nice and helpful, but the facility definitely need improvement specially the gym area.. Not enough machines and in 2023 they still don't have basic like squat machine.

Absolutely lowest of the lowest customer service, mould growing everywhere, will kick you out 20 mins early so they can "clean" but never do. Then Steph who claims to be a manager is rude obnoxious and really needs training in customer services

Love the atmosphere here, great place to exercise or relax, lots of choice and well equipped facilities. The food us always good quality and well presented. Every time we visit the staff are always very nice, friendly and helpful. Membership fees are not for everyone, but if you make sure you use the facilities regularly it can work out cheaper pro-rata than the price you pay at the local leisure centre.
