Dear Sainsbury’s Management Team, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious incident involving a member of your staff at the following location: **Sainsbury’s** 68–78 High Street Hampton Hill, Hampton TW12 1NY The incident occurred on *[insert date]* when I visited the store with two friends. We are Ukrainian women, 22 years old, currently living in the UK as refugees due to the war in our country. We came to buy groceries and alcoholic beverages for a birthday celebration, and we carried all necessary identification. A female staff member, who introduced herself as **Valeria** (a Ukrainian national), approached us and immediately began speaking Ukrainian without being asked. Her tone was disrespectful, condescending, and unprofessional from the very beginning. She questioned us in a rude and intrusive manner and then refused to serve us, despite the store being open and it not being closing time. She repeatedly said to us, with an unpleasant smile: **“I will not sell anything to you.”** When I asked if another staff member could serve us — specifically the Indian male employees who were nearby — she responded with the following shocking statement: **“If the Indian boys serve you, I will have them fired.”** This was deeply disturbing, discriminatory, and absolutely unacceptable. It showed personal bias, hostility, and an abuse of her position, as well as a threat directed at her colleagues. Additionally, she told us to “go to the Indian kiosk next door if you want alcohol,” which was humiliating and made us feel targeted on the basis of who we are and where we come from. As young women who fled war, it was extremely upsetting to be treated in such a degrading and hostile manner, especially by someone from our own nationality. We have since heard that this staff member has behaved unprofessionally toward other customers as well. I am requesting the following: 1. A full investigation into this incident. 2. Confirmation of the actions that will be taken regarding this employee’s behaviour. 3. Assurance that discriminatory remarks, threats toward colleagues, and refusal of service will not be tolerated in Sainsbury’s stores. 4. A written response addressing this complaint. This experience caused significant emotional distress, and I trust that Sainsbury’s will take this complaint seriously.

Extremely Concerned About Hygiene Standards I was shocked by the overwhelming and disturbing smell resembling that of a decaying animal coming from within this Sainsbury’s store. It raises serious concerns about hygiene and food safety. I find it unacceptable that such conditions have been allowed to persist. This isn’t just unpleasant; it’s a potential health hazard. Both staff and customers deserve a clean, safe environment, and it’s disappointing that Sainsbury’s headquarters has not taken immediate action. I strongly urge an urgent investigation and resolution before this situation escalates further.

Avoid..I bought something then requested change which I was given as I wanted to use the large washing machine for my duvets. I needed more coins and in hindsight I shouldn't have gone back but I did. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. When I approached the lady at the till first she shouted at me to join the queue before listening to me. I told her I will wait but can i please have some change and I will wait. When she was ready to give me i gave her £10 pound and as she was getting the change she started berating me for asking for change twice and I was not to go back to that store again. I proceeded to tell her that I didn't want the change anymore and I left the store very quickly and I felt everyone was looking at me like someone who had done something illegal. Nasty and spiteful customer service. Never going back even though I work 4min walk from them. Unless you want to be told of for nothing avoid.

ordered Cow & Gate UK baby formula from Sainsbury's in Hampton Hill, TW12 1NY from Uber Eats app to find it had expired in 20-12-2023. Absolutely disgusted. Anyone local please beware buying anything from sainsburys especially Hampton hill branch. This has been reported to appropriate people and awaiting a response. Would give less stars if possible. Usually has shelf life of 1 and half years so no idea how long this has been floating about! Be careful when buying!

We have a small Tesco store as well as Sainsburys Local in the High St and Sainsburys will always get my custom. This is because Tesco rarely has anyone serving and the self service checkouts are card only, so effectively you can't pay by cash. I object to paying by card if all you want is one or two things.

Excellent staff. Very good bakery also with fresh pastry's daily. As small supermarkets go this is one of the best.

Saintsbury locals are particularly useful at present as you can avoid the risks of travel by using yours. The Hampton Hill local is a good example. It has a helpful and friendly team as well as being very conveniently located. There by is parking at the front and rear, and is close to the bus stop. It has step free access and a convenient coffee shop next door.

Today I used the help your self till to pay for my lunch in Sainsbury's Local, Hampton Hill. The amount was £7.40, I decided to pay £2.40 and put two coins '20p' and two coins '£1' and would like pay rest by debit card. Unfortunately after pay cash, self service till showed me that I put just £2.20, missed 20p coin. I called Sainsburys worker to help me. When she came I explained her my situation. She checked till and said the same that I paid only £2.20. I tried to explain that it is wrong. I am not a crazy. I hold in my hands two 20p coins and two £1 coins. She listened me and with poker face cancelled my list and scanned again the stuff (dropping all the time all items). I din't wait for an explanations. She confirmed that the amount what i paid was £2.20. I have to pay by debit card. I am very disappointment and next time will go better to local Tesco. What the shame. It could be electronic till mistake or could be set up special to hold 20p from each purchases. Never know. It is just 20p coins but still have very bad feeling that I lost 20p and put me as an idiot. Never go again.
