Unjustified and exploitative prices, especially for canned goods, vegetables, and meat. The restaurant makes things even worse by charging extra for garlic sauce as if it were a premium item, even though it’s free at any respectable place. When compared to Al Salam Supermarket and Goodies Market, which offer much cheaper prices for the same products, this place feels like a clear rip-off. A bad experience that clearly reflects greed and is absolutely not worth visiting.

Al-Maidan Supermarket is a great place to shop, especially for those looking for Arabic and Middle Eastern products. They have a good variety of items, including spices, halal meats, and fresh baked goods. The prices are reasonable compared to other supermarkets in the area. Pros: ✔️ Wide selection of Arabic and Middle Eastern products. ✔️ Good quality fruits and vegetables. ✔️ Easy availability of halal products. Cons: ❌ The space can be small and crowded during peak hours. ❌ Some products may be slightly more expensive than in other stores. Overall, it’s a great place for those looking for Arabic products and good service. I definitely recommend it!

I had an incredible experience at Midan Market! I decided to try their secret back-of-the-store takeaway and ordered the £11.99 broasted chicken with hand-cut fries – and wow, it exceeded all expectations. The Syrian-style broasted chicken was absolutely outstanding. For those who might not be familiar, broasted chicken is a method of cooking that combines pressure frying and marinating, resulting in a crispy, golden exterior while keeping the inside incredibly juicy and tender. The Syrian-style broasted chicken here takes it to the next level, with a unique blend of Middle Eastern spices that give the chicken a rich, savory flavor. Each bite had a perfect balance of crispy crunch and tender, flavourful meat – not too greasy, but just the right amount of seasoning and crispiness. It was cooked to perfection, with a mouthwatering aroma that made it impossible to stop eating. To complement the chicken, I got two sauces – the fresh-made garlic sauce, which was creamy, tangy, and packed with flavor, and a chili sauce. While the garlic sauce was absolutely amazing, the chili sauce was a bit watery and sour for my taste, so I’d suggest skipping that if you’re not a fan of a more acidic flavour. The customer service was really friendly and made my visit even more enjoyable. The Syrian gentleman at the front was incredibly welcoming, super friendly, and easy to talk to – he made the whole experience feel personal and warm. Unfortunately, the ladies at the front weren't as engaging, but that didn’t take away from the overall great experience. Midan Market has a wide selection of affordable and freshly made items, and their shawarma for under £4 is an amazing deal. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away in the middle of nowhere, and there’s no seating area, so you'll have to wait around while your food is freshly prepared. But it’s totally worth it – the 25-minute wait for the best and most affordable broasted chicken is absolutely worth it! If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend making a trip to Midan Market for some of the tastiest and juiciest broasted chicken around. You won’t be disappointed!

A nice variety of vegetables and fruits, with reasonable prices. The meat section offers nice Halal meat with competitive prices compared to other shops. You can also find a great selection of Arabic and Turkish food products and spices. The place has a takaway food section, offering wonderful roasted chicken, although other dishes such as Shawarma can improve. The staff are very nice, respectful and helpful. The owner is humble and lovely.

Best supermarket. The kitchen in the back makes shawarma for £3 and rotisserie chicken. The butchers are amazing and their authentic middle eastern food and products are very good.

Excellent Middle Eastern grocery. The butchers are skilled and able to do the cuts that I needed. Good availability of Egyptian goods. Tasty and good value hot food and grilled chicken in the back. One star down because the store is very crammed and the shopping experience is tedious. Request: Please bring more Egyptian goods especially the Egyptian falafel made of broad beans (Basma frozen Egyptian falafel will be nice)

This review is specifically for the new grill at the back: Absolutely delicious. They recently started selling sandwiches in the back, shawarmas etc. I've been eating this kind of food since I was a kid in London and back home in lebanon beirut. I can honestly say this is the most authentic shawarma I have had so far in London. A real taste of home. And for £2.99 a sandwich?? Absolute bargain. You will NOT be disappointed. HIGHLY recommended if in the greenford area.
