Lovely place for a peaceful walk, regardless of the time of year. Nice cafe and play area for the kids. Historical,too..plenty of " boards" detailing the life and work of J S Stamford, a Victorian benefactor and champion of the working class

Wonderful little park. I visit regularly, always with monkey nuts in my pockets because the squirrels are incredibly friendly and will actually come up and take nuts from your hand. The cafe is nice, the toilets are accessible and the playground is always fun for kids. The flower beds are always kept beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere here is just lovely. There's a reason I visit so often!

A beautiful park to visit for a walk or a picnic with family, it's a shame the tropical conservatory is no longer here, it has some beautiful exotic plants in it. The bird sanctuary is lovely, birds of all kinds are well looked after. There is a nice little train ride that you can take a ride in around the park which is great for kids. The cafe is good, simple but friendly staff and clean. The food is nice and the toilets are clean. The park has a Victorian walk that you can do with little waterfalls and bridges, it's off the main paths so can be a bit muddy in parts. Also I'd like to mention the Adorable Squirrel friends of the park that love to come and see what food you have for them, they are not shy to get up close and will take nuts out of your hands if your calm and gentle. I definitely would recommend a visit it's a great place to go for a Sunday walk and a summers day.

A lovely traditional park with lots to see and do. The park has good play areas for the little ones which includes a water fountain play area in the summer months. A lovely coffee shop in the centre of the park with an ice cream van present near the play areas for most of the warmer months. There are also bowling greens, a duck pond and aviary with various types of birds to look at. Worth a visit if you're in the area and an excellent way to kill a few hours for free.

It's a beautiful place to visit with a boating lake, aviaries, play areas for big kids and little kids and some lovely short walks. Not to mention bowling tennis football and a cafe. It's also got a train and ice-cream in summer. It's just unfortunate that the botanical house has died a death ( shame on you shameside!)

Not been to Stamford Park in over 30 years, and only one building i remember from childhood remains standing is the John Nield Conservatory which is abandoned in use. It was a giant greenhouse. i have forgotten that it has bowling green, gardens, a bird house with various birds. In addition the park has its own dingle - a woodland area, childrens play area, gardens and even the old statues etc. Stamford Park Pavillion has a cafe where hot and cold drinks are available and maybe snacks are readily available for purchase. Toliets are situated within the pavillion, but you need to check opening times accordingly. i spotted a land train circulating the grounds which handy but dont know how often it there or cost. overall a nice little park for families, groups and friends

I love this park! I visited for the first time. Lots of on street parking however if it gets full there are car parks close by and really cheap - around £2.00 for all day! Can pay cheaper for less amount of hours too. The park provides a little train ride for all families to enjoy around the park - a small charge of £1.50. They also have water sprinklers where children can enjoy wet play. It ilreally is lots of fun for the whole family. SAND area is lovely and clean. They also have an aviary with lots of hens, chickens and budgies - fantastic. Stamford Park have lovely gardens full of bloomed flowers to enjoy a lovely scenic walk as well as ice cream vans to enjoy. Highly recommend to all!

Nostalgic visit to a park i frequented as a child. Sorry to see birds and rabbits are no longer there, nor were the beautiful rose beds, but the tree planting instead looked lovely. Duck pond brought back many memories. More improvements to greenhouses much needed.
