Chorlton Ees is a woodland area, perfect for a peaceful stroll through nature. With a network of winding paths, ponds, meadows, and woodlands, it’s a good place to escape the city and enjoy some fresh air. There’s free parking at Turn Moss Playing Fields, making access easy. The area has an interesting history, once being lowland farmland before becoming part of Withington Sewage Works and landfill. Thankfully, it was reclaimed and is now a thriving local nature reserve, home to wildlife and a great spot for walking, birdwatching, or just unwinding.

Really quiet and beautiful place for a walk. I went on a weekday and it was almost empty just a few dog walkers or people jogging. There is convenient car parking right in the middle which is a bonus as you won’t have to walk a lot from outside roads. The views and scenery is beautiful but I do recommend adequate clothing as there were a lot of mud poodles around.

Wooded area, where all routes seem to lead to the Mersey.

Lovely place for a walk. There are paths that take you towards Sale Water Park, Chorlton Water Park and so on. Brilliant for dog walkers and there are playing fields for football or just to relax. Beautiful scenery, especially near the River Mersey. Free Parking.
