This academy gets away with not paying its staff for time worked. Not the teachers obviously as they are on a salary, but kitchen staff, dinner ladies etc are paid for say an hour and are expected to stay on for an extra 30 mins or 45 mins without being paid for it. On top of this they have staff shortages which means the children are not being watched properly at break times due to the ratio of staff to children. Will be reporting this to the authorities as it's illegal to force staff to work for no pay.

I feel this school has become overcrowded. Lunch queues are a joke and most of the lunch times is gone waiting rather than the kids getting fresh air. Teachers do their best and are very friendly. Head please take note.

Over the 5 years I was there, the place changed a lot. There's still a lot that needs to be done, especially in cases of dealing with bullying. Otherwise, the staff and teachers are incredibly friendly and supportive. They're also very open minded and actually listen to the students thoughts on matters and systems in place. This is done through student voice or arranged meetings with SLT and/or faculty leader. Which, I think, really sets Amington ahead of a lot of other schools. Additionally, staff are very quick to adjust to any changes in a pupil's educational needs and if (in the unlikely event) they make a mistake, they acknowledge it and apologise to the student. Another thing that's nice is that the teachers don't shout. It makes a calmer environment that's better suited for working. Diversity is celebrated broadly across the academy, and advances in how discrimination is tackled have been made. To improve, I would maybe suggest offering more things to do at break and lunch. Those times became very boring after phones were banned. Also, something does need to be done about people pulling the fire alarm. It went off in 3 exams and they're incredibly annoying.

I am so angry at Mrs Robson. Our girls have turned up to do a dance with miss wood. Then to be told it's not happening and to go home. As Mrs Robson wants to do a speech disgusting. You should be ashamed of your self. These girls have worked so hard and all turned up on there own time to do this just to be removed from the school. Don't worry Mrs Robson I will be in tomorrow to see you. You are out of order and totally distorted all the hard work and effort that the girls and miss wood gave put in to making your school look good. I am ashamed of you all

Brilliant Secondary school with good opportunties open to ALL children. Our experience of the school, staff & opportunties available to the children is absolutely first class. The exterior is a modern building but the values & standards are not lacking. Every member of staff gives their best & the confidence that my granddaughter has gained from the education at the actual school plus all the educational visits open to her & every child that attends
