I travelled 3 hours to attend Forest School Training at Forest Schools Birmingham (not many near me!) and it was so worth it. Afric and Nick immediately put you at ease when you start the training and are friendly and professional. The setting for training here is idyllic. Thereβs ancient woodland, fields and farmed land, itβs absolutely beautiful and I feel lucky that I got the chance to train in such a place. We were taught theory in a hands on manner, practical skills in a supportive and positive environment and encouraged to explore what it is to be a child who may attend Forest School and the positive affects our natural surroundings can have on our mental and physical wellbeing. I have made friends for life on this course and feel as though I could always go back to Forest Schools Birmingham for any advice or other training needs. Worth every penny. Iβve ended up with a better understanding of myself as well as a qualification in May, thanks to these guys.

I had an amazing week with Afric & Nick - they're both so knowledgeable. I learned a lot of new skills that I can't wait to share with the rest of my team. The experience was great for mental health and wellbeing. We had a lot of fun doing team building exercises. I also gained insight into different styles of teaching, which was really inspiring.

Just completed the first week of my forest school practitioner training and I couldn't have had a better time! The training was engaging, insightful and full of silliness. Afric and Nick are great people and were very generous letting me camp on the land for the week and giving me free range on their allotment, really looking forward to returning!

This was the most wonderful, and life changing experience of my life. I was stuck in mainstream education, plodding along, being crushed by the rules, procedures and red tape. Demoralised by the 'system'. After my initial training week I was hooked, and after completing the course I had a new sense of purpose and was so excited to share my new passion and skills with others. I left mainstream education soon after and am now a freelance forest school leader. It was the best and most rewarding decision of my life. Afric and Nick are a breath of fresh air and are truly inspirational. They, along with Ruth were there every step of the way, not just on the training course and assessment, but for any questions or advice, including help with the portfolio. The course was was amazing, the group of practitioners were amazing and it was also so much fun. I would recommend this course for anyone who loves the outdoors, is creative and passionate about the benefits of an outdoor education. Amazing!
