My Daughter has been attending Shooting Stars since September. She is absolutely thriving in the environment. Everyday it seems like she has learnt/experienced something new. Her communication and development really is a reflection of the staff.
My son goes to Shooting Stars in Kings Norton and I have been impressed since day 1! He recently transitioned from baby to pre-toddlers and the transition was extremely well supported. He LOVES it here. Thank you to every single member of staff.
Worst nursery ever!! After being here for under a month, I decided to take my son out of this nursery because of a number of reasons. Which I did address all my concerns to the manager but she didn't get back to my concerns which speaks volumes. A few red flags which made me decide to take my son from this nursery one is because he was always distressed apart from one day, even today when I came to collect my son, the manager as well as another staff said he had a great day, but when I had come to collect he was very distressed with a runny nose and tears just flowing. The sleeve on his arm was soaking wet, I thought why was he not changed when he did have spare clothes at the nursery. Another time I had picked him up he was soiled and I wondered, how long was he in the soiled nappy for? I did express my concerns as I said to the manager but she didn't get back to me. So after today, I decided I would not send my son back to this nursery, sad thing is I was recommended this nursery, but I personally would not recommend this nursery, but each to their own as they say. There was one staff member who I thought was nice and I think her name was Chloe, apologies if I have got the name wrong, but she would always give me a little run down of his day, as they don't seem to update this information on the EYparent app, think it's pointless having the app to be honest. So yea, a 1 star review from me. I could go on and list everything that I was unhappy with but I'd be here all evening and thought I'd just mention a couple of my concerns regarding this nursery.
My children have settled extremely well. Tracey the deputy manager has made sure my experience has been streamlined from start to current. From my show around to settles everything has been no trouble to her. The staff show genuine interest and concern for the children. Could not ask for more so glad I chose this nursery.
I feel dissapointed and let down by the staff in this school; the lack of professionalism and communication between the myself and members of staff has led to my child losing a place in this school. I also feel let down by the failed promises of being provided with live video images for a whole year due to “engineering issues”. Firstly, I asked Tracey to extend my daughter’s hours by 15 hours a week as my daughter qualifies for it. However, Tracey said that they were unable to extend it as they were short staffed and will provide me with updates. 2 months later, with no updates from either Tracey or the school, I was redirected to speak to Maggie. After speaking to Maggie, I found out that the school had filled their class capacity and that they were not short staffed like Tracey said they were. I was frustrated as I had waited and wasted 2 months in hopes of getting my daughter a place in this school. As you can see, due to the lack of communication and professionalism, I made the decision to withdraw my child’s application to the school because I feel as if Shooting Stars cannot look after my daughter to their best abiltities.
What an amazing nursery! I have never felt so comfortable and safe in leaving my child here. The staff are fantastic, I would highly recommend ❤️
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!!! An extremely uncomfortable environment, did NOT feel welcoming AT ALL. Seems as though an act is put on to make it seem like they care about the children or employees, when in reality, THEY DO NOT! If you care about your child, bring them elsewhere.
This nursery is 5* and more. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. My child has been going here since the age of 8 months old. He is now in the pre-toddler group. My child has come on leaps and bounds from being here, which is purely down to all the hard work the staff at Shooting Stars have implemented in him. I love that they have their own specialised app you can have on your phone to view daily, which details everything your child has done throughout the entire day. For example; you will have a complete diary note of their sleeping times, feeding information (which details what they’ve had to eat and how much they ate), nappy change times - wet vs soiled and finally a comments box of how your child has been in the day and a general overview of what they have done. Photos and videos can be uploaded for developmental purposes and it also provides a message function which goes directly to theIr email address. Notwithstanding this, you can also log into their cameras at any time in the day (when your child is there) and view your child having lots of fun in nursery at your own leisure. You will have a view of every corner of the room and even their garden - if they’re playing outside. Every member of staff are extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely professional. Whenever you call them / or email - they come back to you straight away and help you with your queries. They tailor everything to your needs / or the needs of your child, which is just fantastic. Shooting stars are also extremely flexible and they always try and help you if you ever need to rearrange certain days. They will always exhaust all avenues before letting you know if someone can come in an extra day or afternoon etc. If you are in ever doubt of finding a good nursery - Shooting Stars are just a fantastic Nursery, all round. There are many different Shooting Stars Nurseries but this review is based on the one located in Kings Norton. I never have any worries when leaving my child here - he loves it and they are kept safe and are very well looked after. Finally, they have been absolutely excellent with the pandemic and have managed this superbly. They will provide you continuous updates on Covid cases (if any) - any new GOVT guidelines and they take it all extremely seriously. This is such a fantastic, trustworthy and safe environment for all children and I would really recommend attending their open days and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
