   The recently renamed "Ponfretian Club" is a very pleasant, well-appointed Club, formerly known as the Pontefract Conservative Club, which is open to Members and non-members, by invitation. The Licensed Club serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with Members enjoying discounted Bar prices. Food is served when events and functions are arranged with Fish and chips being served to pre-booked Members and Guests on Friday lunchtimes at very reasonable prices.

   Long term member, passes away and they won't have the wake there. Stating we have some lunches through the week. It's empty and struggling, now we know why. You couldn't make it up, turning away 100 plus customers.

   A very pleasant, relaxing place to go for a drink or a meal. My partner and I went for Sunday lunch recently, as we have done previously, and enjoyed a lovely meal. Peaceful, no kids running around and really enjoyable.

   I like it here. The club is quite plush. People are friendly and you can get some really good food here too. Bang in the middle of town yet the beer prices are very cheap. Recommend this place but you have to be a member
