   I had to pick up my relatives and the reception staff were so disorganised compared to my own child’s school. The one receptionist was very nice and friendly and you could tell she was trying her best but the other one was unnecessarily rude to me, combative and seemed to enjoy it taking longer than necessary. I was just trying to collect my nieces which was prearranged by their mother, so if that had happened at my daughter’s school the kids would have been ready at the agreed time but they hadn’t even told the teachers that this was happening even though they’d known since my sister called them so there was plenty of time for them to do that, like it took a lot longer than necessary but at my child’s school they would have had the kids ready at the office for me so I wouldn’t have had to go and get them myself from where they were playing and it wouldn’t have been a big deal. My kid’s school only have 2 reception staff but these guys explained to me that they had loads and they don’t communicate with each other or have like a process for unusual collections (like have thought as soon as they got the call, they’d notify everybody who needed to know and made a note of it on an internal system that could be accessed by everybody who might need to know so that if a reception staff went home unexpectedly they’d still be able to function) but if you’ve said something to one person in reception, they don’t tell anyone else, so it seemed they were saying that only one person in reception was aware of the collection. This seems really weird because they don’t answer the phone like ‘hi (insert name) speaking’ so you don’t even know who to ask for to say ‘this person knows’. Also, not a massive deal but they didn’t think to let my sister know that I was only able to collect from one side of the building because their systems are broken. They also didn’t verify who I was and just let me loose in the playground unsupervised, they didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on so I could have been anyone, luckily my one relative was really excited to see me so the teachers could see she knew me but like if it was just the other relative I was collecting (who was more chill about seeing me) I think they’d still have let me walk out of there with her, honestly so scary, it was honestly really weird and I think they really need to implement a process for early collections so that the children are in the office and that they should work on their communication. Sorry, another thing, my kid’s school ask for photographs of the person collecting but to my knowledge they never asked my sister for a photograph and didn’t pull up a file to see a photograph of me when I entered the office. They also clearly hadn’t shared a photograph of me with the teachers because the teachers weren’t even aware I was coming.
