   I joined an Access course here and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the start, the course was poorly organised - dates and deadlines were unclear without proper communication. The learning felt rushed, and it seemed like we were being pushed through the content rather than actually supported to understand it. What was most frustrating was the lack of support from the college team. When issues were raised, there was NO follow-up or assistance. For a course that’s meant to prepare people for university, the structure and guidance just weren’t there. I wouldn’t recommend this course to others based on my experience.

   Nice looking college with nice enough staff. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, was due to start an access course on Wednesday 17th September, despite calling and emailing almost everyweek since April, it took them until 9th September before they told me that the course wasn't running! Even then, they ignored the fact that I had emailed from my personal email address and sent the cancellation notice to my college email address (even though I wasn't monitoring this consistently because the course hadn't ran), by a sheer stroke of luck I decided to login and found it on Monday 15th September! Even after 9th September I had emailed the tutor and the Course Lead and then full on ignored all of my emails, never telling me to check my student email. Balbinder, Donna and Laura, if you read this you are not good at your jobs

   My child attended this college on the Uniformed Protective Services course, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. The course environment was poor, and instead of supporting students to grow, the atmosphere often felt negative and unfair. One member of staff in particular, Modesta Dolinska, made the situation much worse. She would regularly call parents over the smallest of issues, often making it feel more like a joke to her than genuine concern for the students. This constant nit-picking not only undermined the students’ confidence but also wasted parents’ time. Her marking was also inconsistent and unfair, while most students worked hard, many were given referrals unnecessarily, leaving them discouraged and stressed. It seemed as though she was more interested in exercising control than supporting learning. Students deserve encouragement, fair marking, and constructive feedback, not treatment that makes them feel belittled. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in an educational setting. Colleges should be nurturing young people’s futures, not knocking their confidence and creating an environment of fear and frustration. I would strongly advise other parents to think carefully before sending their child here until serious changes are made.

   Good college but be careful of when ordering food and drink at cost coffee on card I ordered and meal of a drink chocolate bar and an panini was posted to be £5:00 when I looked they took another £5:00 of me don’t buy food from here they will steal your money without you knowing it

   I studied AAT here part time as an apprentice. I failed a few exams but resat them and passed them in time to start the next level apprenticeship. I worked hard to pass my exams just for a lady who wasn’t even my teacher to tell myself and my workplace that I am not ready to progress, and to wait a year to begin the next level. I didn’t listen, I left this college. I moved to SCCB which is 30 mins away from me to continue my studies and I am doing just fine. Go to SCCB if you’re looking to study AAT because the lecturers + apprenticeship coaches are odd at Solihull college. No idea how their business/accounting department makes decisions, and why they feel so entitled to choose someone’s academic pathway.

   I did 2 years of study here as a student in the Uniformed Public Services Course at level 3 and it has helped shaped me into the best possible version of myself. They made me much more employable and opened me up to a wide range of amazing opportunities, including options to go abroad. I am in my final 6 weeks of study now and I am happy to say, I will be taking away so many valuable life skills and information that will greatly increase my chances of getting into West Midlands Police and given me a good insight into criminal law, inspiring me to become a prosecution lawyer further on in life after my career in the police. I will continue my education in University, achieving a Masters Degree in law and this was only made possible by the exceptional team of tutors, additional needs support team and other amazing members of staff.

   Wow!!! I’m so shocked to read such negative comments (majority). I son is 16 and only started in September 22. His grandfather passed away abroad and I have been contacting the college to seek further advice on how he can fly out and not be effected with education. I had no response. I had to chase this up. My son was eventually withdrawn from the engineering course and no exceptions under extenuating circumstances was accepted. Very disappointed

   I attended the Woodlands campus from 2013 till 2019. The teachers are truly amazing (Paul, Salman and Nada especially). The teachers really care, and they put every effort into the teaching. From the teachers to the security guards, everyone are very friendly. I really enjoyed my time here and would like to thank the college and its staff for making my time here so pleasant. Had a lot of fun on their Boeing 737 simulator and working on the Jetstream aircraft.
