Well, my experience has been unpleasant so far...they preach social equity but it wasn't practice.......

If I could put zero stars I would. I’ve tried studying here since 2023 and it’s been nothing but a ball ache. All open days they say you are a name not a number, honestly not one lecturer could know my name. However, the security would. Only ever had bad experience with security. Matt, never wanted to listen to what anyone had to say, and it was his way or no one else’s. He would purposely provoke certain situations. We reported him, but due to the small university, he was never told off as they are friends. Even the hall tutors were rude, and never wanted to listen. All the good lecturers I had to begin with have left. Now it’s lecturers with high accents and can barely be understood. No support when it’s needed. I don’t get how Newman is so high for student satisfaction when they are terrible at answering phone calls. Try ringing any of the departments because I’m sure it will take so many attempts and you will be lucky if they even answer. There all very unprofessional, I’ve appealed my stuff, due to only faults of there own on there end, and I was granted it, however, I’m now waiting for stuff to be marked, and trying to ring them for an update, is beyond me. If I could make any sort of recommendation to new and upcoming students, don’t come here. You’re just a number, and Newman university is terrible and just unprofessional all round. The only lecturer I’ve heard of that’s good and been helpful, has been Bruce Coates. And from what I’ve heard the uni only stabs there lecturers in the back and there students.
Calm and focused environment, ideal for studying and research. It has a good selection of books, and helpful staff. The study areas are clean, well lit and suitable for both group work and independent study.
Love it here, induction was amazing, friendly faces everywhere, staff who are willing to help you succeed as long as you ready to put in the work. This university is the right place for you if you will to achieve your goals. Clean ventilated environment, good historical background. I just love being part of the new family, because that’s what this university is to me and a lot of people.

I went to an open day in March and everything about it was great. This is my first choice because the staff, students, facilities and overall attitude in this uni are the best I’ve seen so far. They all do generally care
Attended the Open Day in March 2022, and we found the campus, staff and student ambassadors really open and transparent and happy to answer questions. It is a smaller campus compared to other universities, but its a calm and well prepared environment. Excited to attend next year.
