Does anyone know where this store has gone? I know they’ve been affected by gentrification in Brentford which is upsetting. Have they moved to a new location though? I’m surprised they’ve not updated their customers

best market, the people who work there are always very receptive, I was there to make a transfer on the Ria, and I had the pleasure of meeting the people who work there, they are very kind, unlike other points in the Ria, they were really very nice and attentive to us! not to mention that there is a variety of African foods, so if you need African foods or want to make an international transfer, this is definitely the right place..

Local joint. Owner seemed to know customers on a first name basis. Good selection of African foods. I love the spicy plaintain chips.

Generic typeface on the shopfront hints at authenticity. Entering through the clean glass doors enhances the feeling of stepping into a real world of African culture. Shelves and fridges are fully stocked with clearly priced food items. There's a distinct aroma of freshness from perishable food such as firm okras, bright peppers and consistently yellow plaintains all displayed in their clean cardboard boxes, giving me confidence of high turnover and timely re-stocking. I wasted little time in sifting for the best ingredients because nothing was past its sell-by-date. The owner's attentiveness, friendliness and helpfulness clearly showed passion for his business, immediately putting me at ease. When i brought his attention to a damaged bag of gari on a shelf, he thanked me before unhesitatingly rectifying the issue to maintain the cleanliness of the store. Not forgetting the beautifully crafted and colourful filtered mask that i bought on a recent visit. Invisible stitching, comfortable to wear in all climates and sweetly packaged in a drawstring muslin bag, it's even become one of my favourite fashion accessories! My subsequent visits are an exciting excursion into an authentic African world. The best of Africa is here.
