Would avoiid this supernarket. Not only can you get a ticket for parking in the car park, you can also get one for turning into it. Never have i seen this anywhere else in the world or country. Since shopping here for 2 years I have had to pay £160 as it's easy to forget and lidl don't care as they seem to be working with the council for this pointless restriction. They rather you do a u turn down the road and sit in traffic. Definitely not worth the risk anymore so they won't be seeing me in any of their shops after sending me emails that proved they don't care about their customers. (Update 30/12/2025)Please ignore the reply from lidl below...I sent them the fine and they said they can't do nothing about it because they obviously don't care about their customers. Liers and deceivers!

I went in and didn’t purchase anything, and as I was leaving had my bag searched. I’m a 30 year old woman popping in after work, I had oranges in my hand which clearly is from Tescos which I showed the worker and he still wanted to go through my bag. I had nothing to hide but don’t like being accused of stealing or having my bag searched in Lidl. This was on 11/12/25 at approximately 8:15pm

I'm writing to express my concern about receiving a penalty for turning right into the Lidl car park. I chose this location specifically because of the car park, but the signage was misleading. There are Lidl signs on the main road and at the car park entrance, which led me to believe it was the correct route. I'd appreciate it if you could review this matter further. I don’t know weather I can appeal or not . It’s too late now for these fines as I was unaware of them due to being hospitalized and not receiving the letters. I discovered them by chance while dealing with another fine. I visited Lidl to save money, but the misleading signage led me to incur these fines. Given the circumstances, I believe this is an unfair outcome. I wonder how ldl will help me in waiving or reducing the fines. Its been couple of months I will not have receipt to give . This has put me and family into so much stress with ongoing health issue .

I don’t know when this woman will get get the recognition she deserves… There is a Portuguese lady who works here. that is the kindest soul. No matter how packed the store is, she takes charge and speeds up the queues quickly by opening another till or directing people to available self checkout kiosks, never imposing, always with a smile. She’s always patient and ready to help. The rest of the staff are generally quite good, but she definitely stands out by far! I think her name is Sandra…

The first time I went into this new store in Dagenham, I asked the security man to let my daughter use the bathroom. He kept asking me if it was for me or my daughter, then he told me the bathroom was for customers, and I told him I would buy something without any problem. But after he asked me for the umpteenth time if the bathroom was for me or my daughter, he said, "If it's for your daughter, take her to the park because the bathroom is out of order." So I left with my daughter. Afterwards, I came back, and of course, another employee told me the bathroom was available without any problems.

A very messy store and customer service doesn’t exist. I went so many times there and every time you can hear the employees shouting and arguing around the store. The manager from there doesn’t know how to treat customers he is extremely rude so I can’t imagine how he treats the others employees, he definitely shouldn’t work there. Such a poor management reflects on the store. I know it’s a very busy store but this shouldn’t be an excuse for any bad behaviour from the manager and the staff. This review it’s from a person which worked in the retail so I really know what I’m talking about.

Has improved over the last few years: employees are more polite and friendly. Need better produce now. Frequently buying fresh fruit which has fungus the very next day. Frozen veg needs to be better stocked. Halal products would open a whole new market.
