I grew up in the UK as the child of Muslim parents from abroad and sadly I don’t carry good memories of Madressa here. My own experiences were rooted in fear and strict rules rather than nurturing a love for faith. Because of that, it was deeply important to me that my son’s experience would be different, that he would grow up seeing Islam as something beautiful, welcoming, and full of meaning. When he was still very young I rushed to enrol him into what I thought was a good Arabic school. Unfortunately, this is where he first experienced racial abuse, including anti Black slurs that the school failed to take seriously. That experience was heartbreaking and from then on I promised myself that I would never just send him anywhere, I would do the research properly and ensure he was in an environment that truly reflected the values of our deen. Finding Lote Tree Foundation has felt like an answered dua. From the start it stood out. They focus on Islamic studies and faith itself rather than imposing any one culture above another. The school is run with real professionalism but at the same time it is warm, approachable, and deeply rooted in community. Every interaction makes it clear that the teachers and staff genuinely care for the children. The summer camp in particular was nothing short of spectacular, so well thought out, engaging, and full of joy. My son loved it and I don’t think I can do it justice in words. What stays with me most is how supported and safe he feels there, and how much he looks forward to going. A special mention must go to Ustad Faisal, the head teacher, who is incredibly hands on. He greets families personally, makes time for everyone, and ensures that parents feel part of the school community as much as the children do. That simple act of presence and care says so much about the ethos of Lote Tree. This is exactly the type of positive nurturing community experience I had hoped for my son and I can honestly say there is very little I would not do to support them. Lote Tree Foundation has given us what I once thought was impossible, a place where my child can learn, grow, and love his faith without fear.
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Lote Tree monthly foodies gathering for brothers. The evening was exceptionally well-organised, with a welcoming atmosphere and a great mix of attendees - from younger brothers to respected uncles. The conversations were enriching, the food excellent, and above all, there was a strong sense of unity and brotherhood. I look forward to attending future gatherings.
This was my 4-year old son’s first time attending a summer camp with Lote Tree Foundation, and I can honestly say it has been his favourite by far! He’s been to other settings and holiday camps in the past, but nothing has compared to how much he enjoyed this one. What really stood out to me was how beautifully they combined deen studies with creativity and fun for the children. It wasn’t just learning in a classroom setting — they made it engaging, exciting, and age-appropriate. Every day my son would come home with a smile on his face and proudly show me a piece of work or project he had completed. It was the perfect blend of learning and enjoyment. Faisal and the team were absolutely wonderful — so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring. The whole onboarding process was incredibly smooth and easy, which made things stress-free from start to finish. If I could make one request, it would be to run the camp for longer than two weeks in the future — my son didn’t want it to end! I’ll definitely be enrolling him in other classes provided by Lote Tree Foundation because this experience has been exceptional. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for their child during the summer.
Alhamdulillah, brilliant courses, excellent teachers, simple to follow and most importantly key foundation knowledge that everyone must know and if you begin to put it into practice, InnshaAllah you will see the benefits in this life and the next.
Amazing course so far (watching recordings although managed to attend some live sessions). The Shaykh is patient, calm, humble, professional and clearly knowledgeable. Also as this is supported by voluntary donations, it really feels as if the course was designed for the student in mind, with the intent of distributing knowledge for the sake of Allah. Some technical problems but that is bound to happen during the course of the year. I hope there is a way to stay in touch with the Shaykh if any questions arise whilst watching the recordings.
My son loved the summer camp last year and was adamant to go to the winter camp. He was raving about it..daily learning new stories and activities to work upon. Thoroughly enjoyed. Can't wait for the summer camp this year insha Allah. Will be sending my daughter also with her brother ☺️ Alhumdullilah
This was a great experience for my kids. Everyday they came home with a smile on their faces and had so many stories to tell. They learned a lot from this camp. We will definitely be sending our kids here again! Thank you Lote Tree foundation for all the work you do.
The children loved the winter camp, everyday they come home with a great learning story and beautiful artwork of what they learnt! The teachers were very helpful and kept the children engaged throughout the course. Highly recommended it.
