   My experience with HCB Solicitors during my property purchase was one of the most stressful and disappointing situations I’ve ever dealt with. What should have been an exciting step in my life turned into months of frustration and anxiety because of how my case was handled. My conveyancer Wendy Davies is not professional at all! From the start, everything felt slow and disorganised. There were constant delays, very little communication, and I repeatedly had to chase them for even the most basic updates. It often felt like nobody was taking responsibility for the progress of my purchase, and my file was simply left to gather dust. After all the waiting and stress, things got even worse. When the completion date was finally agreed upon and everything was supposed to go ahead, HCB Solicitors suddenly withdrew from the transaction without proper explanation. This last-minute decision completely shattered the entire process and left me emotionally drained and stuck. What made the situation even more upsetting was that they kept my funds in their account for around two weeks, leaving me unable to move forward with anything. Not knowing when I’d get my own money back added an extra layer of worry and frustration. In a desperate attempt to resolve the issues, we contacted the compliance manager. Unfortunately, this only made things worse. In my experience, he did absolutely nothing to help. The way he handled the situation felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in accountability. Instead of offering solutions or support, it felt like he was brushing everything aside. Overall, this entire experience was emotionally draining, financially stressful, and extremely disappointing. Based on what I went through, I would strongly advise anyone considering HCB Solicitors—especially for conveyancing—to avoid them completely. I genuinely regret choosing this firm and hope my experience helps others avoid the same stress and frustration.

   We have recently had our wills drawn up. Our solicitor, Jules Mackenzie, is very client focussed and an excellent communicator who is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We needed advice and guidance to ensure we were making the best provision for our family and Jules was able to do this. Her perspective and knowledge enabled us to consider options that we hadn't even realised we're an option for us. I don't think anybody looks forward to writing a will, but Jules actually made it a pleasant experience. Now that our wills are sorted, it has given us a sense of relief. If you are looking for a solicitor to guide you through the will writing process, and you value a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service, I cannot recommend Jules Mackenzie, at HCB in Lichfield, highly enough. The other colleagues we have come into contact with at HCB have also provided excellent customer service. Thank you to all involved, especially Jules Mackenzie!

   Absolutely fantastic service. I am personally quite aware that I am a bit of a handful, as due to my head-injury and my subsequent disability (sustained as a result of a serious car accident), admittedly I do find it hard to follow things, especially legal jargon. But this was all explained to me perfectly, and despite a lot of needless opposition from the other side, I now have access to my son, which was unilaterally stopped for absolutely no reason by the other side. My thanks to Alice for listening to me endlessly complaining about the family-law system, and giving me brilliant advice throughout my case.

During our first consultation she took the time to listen to my requirements in a compassionate way and tailored her approach to ensure that the matter was expedited in the most cost effective manner. All costs were spelt out and transparent and there was no attempt to generate any more work than was absolutely required. Communication was always prompt and to the point. The advice I was given was always clear and Alice was always open to hear my point of view. I always felt that Alice was part of a team of people who were dealing with this matter and if she was on leave, there was always someone able to pick up the correspondence who had knowledge of the case.
