Understaffed. Failed to show up for an organised birthday. Proposed to cancel the party 15mins before the start time.
I went to get my daughter's ears pierced (booked online and completed all the paperwork ahead of the appointment) to be told that I should go to a bigger Claire's where there were 2 piercers who could do dual piercing. The lady explained that she doesn't pierce the second ear if the child cries (my daughter is 1.5 years old, of course she'll cry) and a couple of children already ended up with only one piercing that morning. If she was to only pierce one ear, I'd have to come back and pay full price again to get the second one pierced. I wasn't too reassured about this and felt that this information should have been on the website, at the time of booking, but I proceeded to call a bigger shop. I called Claire's in the Manchester Arndale centre. They said that they could not do dual piercing as my daughter was too small but they were happy to do one after the other, as they know children cry. I went to the Arndale today and they pierced her ears in a matter of seconds, with my daughter only crying for a minute. I am unsure why the Stockport store could not have done the same in the first place and avoid me travelling to Manchester...
Recently went in to get my childs ear piercing. 2 young girls working. First girl who did the piercing had horrible attitude and 0 patience for my child, that got upset after the first piercing. The second blonde girl behind the counter seem to find the entire thing amusing somehow and needs actual training in customer service. Emailed clairs direct and got an automated apology so that was pointless. Stay clear of this shop if you want a nice experience for your childs first ear piercing.
Incompetent staff. I looked on the website before turning up which said that you can’t book appointments for ear-piercing you just turn up. I did so and asked for my ears to be pierced. The girl behind the till went in that back and told me that her colleague was in the middle of some paperwork and to come back in 15minutes so I had a wonder round the shops only to be told on my return that she had now gone on her lunchbreak and to come back in 45mins. I was on my lunchbreak also so this wasn’t possible. I asked to speak to a manager as she had wasted my time telling me to come back. I’d rather she’d just said it can’t be done today. I asked for a manager. The girl came out of the back still eating, and proceeded to tell me that she knew I was coming back but that she had put her lunch break on the system so there was nothing she could do. I asked if she couldn’t do the piercing and then start her lunch break after that. She refused. No apology was forthcoming from either. They just kept shrugging and pulling their faces as if I was being unreasonable! Refused to give me their names just an email address for customer service. Needless to say I have gone somewhere more professional But frustrated at the time wasting so just to warn others, wouldn’t have really been comfortable with her piercing me anyway!
I took my 8 year old daughter for her ears pierced yesterday 27/07/23 and the two ladies who did the piercing were outstanding, from entering the shop to leaving the shop the care, communication, outstanding customer service we received was the best I've had in a very long time. Sorry I don't remember your names but I've added the date so you know who you are. Me and my two daughters were very happy customers and we are ever so grateful to you both. Thankyou very so much. I will recommend to anyone who asks!
I went to claires a couple of days ago and I bought some earrings and then when I put them in it ripped my ear apart a little bit. I also bought a make up plalet and it was smashed to pieces and there were ants crawling in it I do not recommend claires for your child.
I shopped in ur Stockport store today to see a small toddler having her ears pierced with 3 adults holding her down I had to leave the shop I was mortified with the child’s screams is that child abuse

Selvia was so kind and helpful as we popped in for my daughter’s 7th birthday treat today. She helped the children with budgeting and what they could get on special offer. She made it such a fun experience for them! xx
